Re: Steel & timber staircase 2Jul 18, 2015 6:17 pm Hi dbenz, I went through the process of getting a quote from a stair manufacturer with the same outcome. Anyway I want a 12 stair mono-stringer and have found a local engineering fabricator who has quoted me $1550, of course painting is around another $1000. I have found this site to be very helpful in designing my stairs. http://www.blocklayer.com/Stairs/default.aspx Hope this helps Re: Steel & timber staircase 3Jul 20, 2015 6:32 pm Thanks for your help Alan! Is that engineering fabricator in Perth or you live in another city? This company is in Brisbane and with shipping to Perth is still way cheaper. http://www.scottmetals.com.au/stringer#onconcretepic Re: Steel & timber staircase 4Jul 24, 2015 11:05 am No he is in Bomaderry NSW. When designing your stairs you have to think about your floor covering, for example if you are having tiles, doing direct stick method, you need to allow for the base plate and fixings to be recessed, so you can tile over them. The same applies to the wall fixing. We allowed 40mm for the base plate and 10mm for the wall plate which is fixed to a lvl so I can plaster over it. I can give you his name if you want, though there should be a metal fabricator around with experience in doing stringers, just ring around. Staircases and sausages. Should thou wish to keep thy palate sweet for sausages, avert thine eyes from their crafting. 14 4591 Hi I am wanting some opinions about the build of a steel shed I am going to get one about 4.5 x 2.5 m steel shed and the height will be about 2.3-2.4m high The one I am… 0 14442 Not sure if that works?
