I have some steel beams going from left to right of each apartment. They have brought me great confusion. my questions are: a. Do they have to be on steel poles? or can they lay on the brick walls on each side of the house (Two carpenters have told me different stories) b. Some of the carpenters i got quotes for don't install them. Whats the easiest way to erect them? Pay someone to do it? Or buy the beams, get a crane and get the carpenter to connect them? the reason I'm asking, is i have 2 quotes of good priced carpenters, who don't supply and don't have cranes. and the carpenters who do install, they charge too much (Not because of the beams) I've got some beam supply and install quotes, for like 12k, but carpenters who can supply and install them, say its only 4k extra for the beams. Im rather confused Can someone give me more info about these beams! thanks in advance The carpenters who don't want to supply or install more than likely just don't want the outlay. Have you offered that if you order the beams, and pay for the crane that they will do it? It's either that or they are cheap because they aren't quite as good Carpenters deal with cranes all the time to lift timber beams and roof trusses so surely you should be able to broker a deal if you really prefer them Hi I am wanting some opinions about the build of a steel shed I am going to get one about 4.5 x 2.5 m steel shed and the height will be about 2.3-2.4m high The one I am… 0 14435 Hello everyone, After some suggestions and ideas about how to put a concrete path around the drop edge beam area on our new build.
