Fascia brackets generally carry the same height as your eave (in fact louvre roof might end up sitting slightly higher) which is generally preferred. It is however more complex and then you might have to also think about covering the fascia brackets from underneath so you don't see them when standing underneath. By bricks I presume, you are referring to brick wall underneath the eave. This can be a good option if the floor height is decent e.g. 3m and there is enough room to install the new beam. hope this helps ps: FYI I work for a louvre roof company.
