Your dad was a clever man I loved glamping and once the boy is grown up I have my eye on a couple of glampers that would be lovely. In the meantime under canvas it is - I'm pretty happy as long as I'm sleeping on a mattress off the floor - I'm too old for a air mattress viewtopic.php?t=62083 Re: Perth NOR OB on 5 Acres - Ceiling painting begins :-) :- 644May 17, 2014 1:30 pm I don't mind the swag and air mattress but come morning I have to roll out of 'em, cos there comes a time when the "white ants" get into your back!!! You book am appointment and send through your plans and they set up your kitchen in a real life mock up each session takes 1 to 1.5 hours (your kitchen is set up before you arrive) and you get to play in a life size mock up to make sure it works for you. Best of all it was free .......which my DH could not believe it really helped us make little changes and figure out what we wanted - thanks Trixee viewtopic.php?t=62083 Re: Perth NOR OB on 5 Acres - Ceiling painting begins :-) :- 648May 17, 2014 10:20 pm So glad it helped you make those little changes! Did you end up deciding to use any Blum stuff? We thought those under sink drawers were pretty handy. Re: Perth NOR OB on 5 Acres - Ceiling painting begins :-) :- 649May 17, 2014 10:30 pm I was always on planning using Blum DH loved the corner drawers and it was really good because whilst we could make our kitchen island larger and we learnt our kitchen was quite large we also learnt our latest version has lots of triangles within it so works well I was also worried that my scullery wall would be to small but the reality is it's is quite large enough viewtopic.php?t=62083 Re: Perth NOR OB on 5 Acres - Ceiling painting begins :-) :- 650May 17, 2014 10:41 pm Hehe yeah it really does provide good perspective on the size of the kitchen! Like you, I kept worrying that it wasn't big enough, having it all set out shows you how big it really is! Build thread http://tinyurl.com/llgc7yk Re: Perth NOR OB on 5 Acres - Ceiling painting begins :-) :- 652Jun 06, 2014 11:57 am So I currently have 4 plumbers and an electrician on site (plumbers will be here all day) I don't even want to think of the hourly cost!!!! Plumbers are moving waste drains for the channel drains in the shower and plumbing in for the floor based tap for the bath. Our solar hot water system in the existing part of the house has also been leaking resulting in us having to go outside and turn on and off the hot water whenever we wanted to use it so they are replacing this with an electric unit as this will only be needed to feed the kitchen and the bathroom in the original house. When we have done the kitchen Reno it will be hidden away in the back of a kitchen cupboard to assist with instantaneous hot water in the kitchen. The other thing we have done (I shouldn't say we as I am afraid of heights) DH and DS put the insulation bats in the extension over the last couple of weekends. Anyway only photo I have of any of this exciting stuff is photo of my bath in situ while we figured out where the tap should go. It took 4 guys to move the stone bath the 300 meters up our driveway and up a hill to the bathroom. Re: Perth NOR OB on 5 Acres - Stone bath finally makes it in 659Jun 06, 2014 6:30 pm Thanks Guys re the bath........we've just been chatting to the electrician apparently only 32amps is currently running into our house we've been advised not to run our new hot water system and the kettle etc at the same time as there is only approx 13 amps free. My new tepanyaki grill is 24amps and most of the new ovens are 16amps. Looks like we are going to have pull new cable from the street which is over 500m from the house viewtopic.php?t=62083 Re: Perth NOR OB on 5 Acres - Stone bath finally makes it in 660Jun 06, 2014 8:44 pm Oh my! That bath! Shame about the power - 32amps is really low! I thought a standard house these days was around 80amps. Is it going to be costly to drag in more power?
