Fast forwarded + photo heavy 161Mar 23, 2016 10:45 am Alucobond installation all completed including the right hand side column and eaves under the porch. The matrix pattern in the porch area looks fantastic while the sections on the outer give it a uniform boxed look. Peel off and silicon next week hopefully. I agree, if you were allowed self closing self locking sliding doors to the home that area would be perfect! I want to create the same type of courtyard/entertaining/pool area with my build however the fence ruins the flow. Re: OB in Hume area - VIC. Fast forwarded + photo heavy 167Apr 03, 2016 12:10 am gablesrocks Hi Haji, No update from you. Wondering how its going After a bit of a delay due to Easter break, there's been some progress. Firstly, kitchen island is now completed. We now have a huuuuuge kitchen island with plenty of space and dining area for 6. Did I mention it was huuuuuge? 4.7m x 1.2m to be precise. My lockup and fixer looks tiny next to it even when on a ladder It weighs close to 100kg due to the 8mm thick glass mainly. Took 4 of us to get it on the sliding rollers and around 3 hours to fully get it right. Just need to stain and place handles. I will frost part of this door when we move in. Fast forwarded + photo heavy 169Apr 03, 2016 1:07 am Forgot to mention that painting is pretty much done except for the dark gray feature walls where timber battens will be going on in the bathrooms. We went with Lexicon 1/4 strength for both ceilings and walls. We had gone mainly Lexicon 1/2 strength in matt for the kitchen. The lower the strength the brighter it's supposed to be. We're pretty happy with the colour. All the downlights have pretty much been installed as well. Went with concrete looking tiles to compliment the soon to be polished concrete floors and make the timber battens stand out once installed. There will be no tiles on the floor including the shower base. Fast forwarded + photo heavy 171Apr 03, 2016 1:19 am And lastly for now, alucobond. It came up immaculate. Workmanship is 10 out of 10. I was unsure about the colour as I didn't want it to clash with the monument colour render but at the same time still have it dark, again so that it compliments the timber battens that are going to get installed on the cement sheet. The beauty about the colour is that it's metallic so depending on the angle you look at it, it changes which adds another feature. The photos actually make it look lighter than what it is. The brand Alucobond didn't have sheet sizes and the colour we originally wanted so went with a brand called Alpolic. = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Custom owner build in Hume - VIC - Tiling Stage http://goo.gl/qpPglB Re: OB in Hume area - VIC. My builder will be installing it. The cavity was made by our lockup & fixer so had to pay for the materials + his labour, which my guess would be around $300. As for the door, it was from www.customdoors.net.au. The door itself was $1000, paid $140 for the roller track which can carry upto 120kg, paid $12 for the edge handle and looking at $80 for the front face handles. Since it is hung from the top the door maker said there shouldn't be any bowing. $2940 sounds right for your door. Can't wait to see it, should turn out awesome. = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Custom owner build in Hume - VIC - Tiling Stage http://goo.gl/qpPglB Re: OB in Hume area - VIC. Firstly, if your house is still under builder's warranty (10 years in Victoria) you should have no need to crawl into roof space but let the builder handle it, unless you… 3 5864 What size are the windows, double or single glazed, can I have a pic of the full windows inside & out?
