Very professional, in fact, it is better than professional because the professionally designed floating intake filters neglect to include this important safeguard. Did you weight it perchance?

They thought I was going to run 20m of horizontal pipework above the ground from the roof to my tanks. They must have thought my yard was going to be so ugly to look at for the last couple of months
Not seeing overflow pipes fitted will also confuse (and please) them.
It's interesting that you mention the neighbour's prior concerns because it is something that is probably not usually given consideration and a diverted downpipe running along a wall or forming an arch is always going to be ugly. The single downpipe arch in the photo below detracts from the area's ambience and will also struggle on its own to fill the tank. I would hate it!
