We are going to get our enquite setup with under tile heating, hopefully it works well and takes care of several things at once.

I am hoping it helps to dry the towels during winter, i am hoping it helps to dry out the ensuite all year round and keep the mould at bay and i am hoping it will keep the floor warm obviously.

Can anyone report what their bathrooms are like for dust when this style of heating is fitted? I read somewhere that they reckon it helps to keep the room clean as the heat lifts the dust and it ends up getting sucked out through the exhaust fan

We've got under-floor electric in our bathroom, have had it a couple of years. Even though it's "on" for 4-5 months of they year, doesn't seem to use as much power as one of those IXL-tastic things would if the 3 of us were to use it only when we were in the bathroom ... and how pleasant the bathroom is in our otherwise-cold 50's house is a big reason we're getting hydronic under-floor heating in the new house we're hopefully building soon. :)

I don't find there's any less dusting in there than I've experienced in other bathrooms in the past, unfortunately.

Oh, PS ... we are only heating about 2 square metres of floor, as we were told it's pointless to heat under showers or toilets or vanities etc; this probably affects power usage, and I believe that using electric under-floor heating for an entire house is VERY expensive electrically-speaking.
