Do they operate differently as the seasons/temperatures change? It's getting worse and now keeping us awake at night. Sounds like a noisy airconditioner running non-stop. Any thoughts? One of the failure modes is when the refrigerant leaks and the compressor runs excessively because the circuit is no longer bringing the water up to temperature. Perhaps this has happened to your neighbour. I suspect it will happen to many of the lesser quality systems in the next couple of years. You should be able to convince your neighbour to fix it - the excessive running is probably costing them money and they should get on to it sooner rather than later when the warranty might have run out.
