Hello!
I was always dealing manually with the setting in my appartment: i.e. a wire from my PC to my amplifier, then another from my TV to amplifier, and another for connecting my mp3 players...

Now for the house that we are planning, we would have lots of different spaces! Ultimately i am thinking that we would have these separate areas:
- family space & kitchen
- formal dining
- outdoor garden area
- veranda outside formal dining
- 3 rooms on 2nd floor
- WIR & bathroom in main bedroom

I suppose all the above would always be used at different timings, except:
- family space & kitchen + outdoor garden area
- formal dining & veranda
We should use separate amplifiers at each source?
Or there are speakers that can be connected straight away to the mp3 or radio? Any suggestions that could help us?

Thank you!

I would run all your speakers back to a central point, this will give the most flexibility in system choices
This would give you the options of running distributed audio and video throughout the house. Doing this allows you to watch the same, or a different thing in each room.

You may also want to consider having local blu-ray players so you are not having to go back to the central area to put in a disk

For a full AV/Automation system, you should look at Control4.
IF you just wanted to do audio only you could look at NEVO or Sonos

Hello,

If you run everything back to a central location you can install many different types of components to suit your house..

i would also look at these that are much much better priced and more integrated than control 4 and sonos:

www.dbus.com.au
www.homeauto.com <--- this is the american site, but is exactly the same as australian.

hope this helped

Cool thanks,

You mean connecting all floors to one place, or just ground floor rooms to a main location? And then bedrooms have a different system each?

That i suppose is more logical, since we will be able to have same music in formal and informal areas. With such systems can we choose volume of music separately for each area?

If you send it all back to a central location including the bedrooms, you would have the most options on what system to go with

Control4 and Sonos, will allow separate volume and type of music playing in each room. the HAI systems should also be able to do the same.

You may want to visit some showrooms or dealers of all the systems out there not just the ones metioned, explain what you are looking for and get some hands on time with the systems. Every systems has its strengths and weaknesses, and without you actually playing with them you might end up with something that doesn't suit your individual taste or needs

No. Homeauto is the HAI manufacturer.
There are 17 HAI dealers in Victoria, and one of them is Camberwell Electrics promoting it under their DBUS marketing banner
