Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 01, 2020 3:44 pm Hi guys, My partner and I are looking to build a tri-level house on a 14x30 block of land that has a 1.5m downhill slope. I know its very hard to give figures with little information, but we're looking for a very rough ballpark figure to see whether we can actually achieve this within our budget. By tri-level, the front part of the house would be single story, whereas the part sitting on the downhill sloped part would be two story. We want to build a 3 bedroom house with a double garage, 2 bathrooms (incl. Ensuite) and a theatre room as well as the main living room/kitchen area. Maybe a study nook if we had the money. Roughly, we want something between 220-250sqm total. What would be a rough estimate to build this with the 1.5m slope? Our land costs 192,900 and we have a total build budget of 420k, but this needs to include retaining, landcaping, ect. Is this a realistic build budget for tri story or are we better off going single story? Re: Cost to build tri-story on a sloped block? 4Aug 01, 2020 8:51 pm Sorry I don't know, from Perth, in Perth would be no chance but I'm not sure in SA Re: Cost to build tri-story on a sloped block? 5Aug 02, 2020 7:50 am Why do you say no chance in Perth Doozer? He is basically building a split level house not three storeys. We aren't allowed to build three level houses in our neck of the woods either. I would agree with him. I think ive caused a bit of confusion with how I've laid out the build budget- that's my bad. We have 420k left to spend for the build, we have a total budget of 610k for the whole project (land, house, landscaping, ect.). We're first home buyers so we're not sure how costings go, so this might still not be enough as far as I know. Any recommendations for builders for a KDRB in North Warrandyte ?
