Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 23, 2017 11:58 pm HI, We recently bought a subdivided land with planing permits but now we need to do some amendments to its approved plan We after following basic changes - Change the window frames (Timber to aluminium) - Change the height of front windows - Change the terrace stacker door to a bi-parting door Our builder is asking us to submit this amendment form to the council. (Not sure about the process) Does anyone went through this process? If so, can you please help me answering following questions . - What permit is being amended? - What is the amendment being applied for? - Why is the amendment required Thank you Re: Planning Permit Ammedment 3Feb 24, 2017 8:58 pm As above. A planning permit is to build on the site and building permit is the actual house itself. I presume you mean building permit? You need to submit an amendment because things are changing as to what was approved. Doors probably nothing to worry about unless they are larger/smaller/sized differently. The windows frames probably nothing unless it doesn't fit within any covenant you have. The size of the windows needs to be considered in relation to the street frontage and also it could affect your energy rating being larger in height. If it is a local builder they should be able to help you out. Give Jonathan a call. Tell him you know me. He is in my opinion the best surveyor I have ever worked with.
