Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 28, 2016 8:03 pm Thought I'd better start my own thread after stalking everyone else's over the past 12 months!! My husband and I are first home owners and after searching for a house to buy in the area we liked and failing to find anything in our price range, we jumped at the new release of land in our area. We signed contracts on our 850sqm block of land in January 2016. We then had to wait for it to be registered which was due in September but delayed until the end of November 2016, finally settled 13th December!! We did our colour and electrical appointments together up at the Gold Coast at the end of November. We are now with the private certifier and then off to council, can't wait to finally get started!! Also currently 28 weeks pregnant with our first baby. 2017 is going to be one busy and exciting year!! Photos to come once I work out how to add them! Re: First home, Coral Homes, Santorini 25mkII 2Dec 28, 2016 8:19 pm I found your thread! Great news about your land finally being yours. I know how it feels waiting for registration! Look forward to watching a Santorinni build, that was the other design we debated building, hubby talked me into the Noosa. Such an exciting year coming up for you, a baby and a house!! That's so exciting!! If you have the app tap talk it's much easier to post photos or if have photo bucket you can copy and paste the link - I think that's the other way. Can't wait to see your plan and selections GJ Gardner Modified Coolum 277 viewtopic.php?t=83643 First home, Coral Homes, Santorini 25mkII 6Dec 29, 2016 5:31 pm Thanks everyone, looking forward to getting started! Changed normal door to cavity sliding door to laundry. Also moved the hot water system to the other side near the laundry (not sure why they had it near the alfresco?!) also moved the phone and data points as we had them in the wrong spot. I thought the eclipse was discontinued... maybe not. Looking forward to seeing your selections come to life GJ Gardner Modified Coolum 277 viewtopic.php?t=83643 Luckily for us, it's available down to Nambucca heads and then after that it's discontinued. I was a bit worried when I seen everyone else saying it was discontinued before our selections as I really like it! Re: First home, Coral Homes, Santorini 25mkII 10Dec 29, 2016 6:13 pm So in love with eclipse bricks but we were told they were discontinued so we had to change them. Are you in NSW or QLD? Your cornerless stackers will look wonderful!! They weren't cheap! But definitely something I'm glad we did Yes it will definitely be worth it. I remember asking in the coffs Adenbrook display how much and she said about 5k. Great idea about tinting your front window too. Our front faces the west so we might need to do this too. Look forward to watching your house come to life! Re: First home, Coral Homes, Santorini 25mkII 16Dec 30, 2016 5:20 am Stalking also, we are building just down the road at Valla. Can't wait to see more progress on everyone's builds. I love your choices. I love the belga grey!!! I would have love to have it but we had our choices with a little independent tile shop and went with a dark tile for the bathrooms. I almost chose a tile similar to the tile you are having on your bath hob as my splash back in the kitchen so I'm a bit partial to it Can't wait to see them all come together!!! GJ Gardner Modified Coolum 277 viewtopic.php?t=83643 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 4350 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13773 11 41650 |
