Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 30 Brisbane West 61Nov 27, 2016 9:06 pm Bricks!! Am I crazy, I keep going back to wanting a old school style brick but in a modern way. My husband and I both agree we love these but it's so hard to say yes because it's so different to what's on trend at the moment I don't want to make a mistake!! We have so many trees around us, I can just picture it against our green backdrop and beautiful greenery planted in the front yard. Honest thoughts? Love your tile choices! Personally for me I love the look of those bricks with the monument or black Windows...I'm really into industrial looking stuff tho so it floats my boat! When are you doing externals? I was a real tight arse with external and stuck to builders range...luckily we really liked the bricks and didn't get distracted with the more expensive ranges! We didn't need to upgrade mortar as they gave us off white straight up. I knew a long time ago I wanted black windows and a charcoal roof so just built the selections around that. Good fun this bit but you will always second guess something lol I'm still doing that!!! Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 30 Brisbane West 63Nov 28, 2016 4:53 am H Family Build Bricks!! Hubby is the same, we drive past all the time almost in shock that we like it so much because typically it's not our style. With the black it should look great. Good fun this bit but you will always second guess something lol I'm still doing that!!! Thank you thank you! That was exactly what I needed to hear. I was hoping it would pull off a slight industrial look as I love it also. We are doing Matte black tap and hardware in the house also. And those colours are exactly what we are doing too, monument roof garage ect an black window framing!! And like you, I really wanted to not splurge on the outside and stay within the builders range, to be honest I didn't see anything I loved more either so I just need to trust my gut, I just didn't want it to solely be "old nanas house" That's fantastic you got off white mortar as standard, my husband still thinks grey will look better with our bricks. I actually have nooooo idea. We have all our colour selection Friday! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=85653&p=1642230#p1642230 Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 30 Brisbane West 66Nov 28, 2016 9:05 pm Becs Coral H Family Build Bricks!! Always go with your gut like ryalls said...it'll serve you well! Just do what I did and put your imaginary blinkers on! Lol I refused to look at other ranges...it pays to do mood boards of all your faves. Makes the whole thing a breeze. I did my externals in 20 mins! Done! And very happy with the real big life version. Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 30 Brisbane West 78Nov 29, 2016 6:17 am I love your brick choice I know it's not a popular colour in new houses on the East Coast but I'm from WA & it's huge over there & I think you've made a great choice were there many choices in standard range? We really have to stay standard in bricks & carpet as we've splurged to our limit already dreading it as I'm not good with compromising when I really like something else Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 30 Brisbane West 79Nov 29, 2016 6:19 am H Family Build BrownDog77 Love your choices the tiles look fantastic! Love love lovethe splashback I hope we can put that in our budget Lucky we live in did states as our house will be similar colours. I think once you put all your towels & accessories etc in bathroom it will break up all the grey yaay for colours Appt Yeah I am very for adding the feel of the home in with furniture and accessories!!
