Best of luck with your build, your colours look fab. Hi there. We used Patrick Arn at the Yarrabilba office. Re: Building modified Coral Cloncurry on acreage, New Beith, 103Mar 01, 2017 7:07 pm Tribe7 Thanks for that. It's hard to know who is a good consultant and who isn't. Yeah it is hard. It was the closest to us and now we are renting that sales office is only a 2 minute drive away from us. Re: Building modified Coral Cloncurry on acreage, New Beith, 104Mar 01, 2017 7:11 pm Booked in to do our colours next Wednesday We were booked in for the 22nd but it felt too far away lol. I need to decide on a wall colour! I pretty much know everything else I want. Excited! I haven't heard anything about electrical though. Re: Building modified Coral Cloncurry on acreage, New Beith, 105Mar 05, 2017 8:01 pm So it turns out Coral won't let us build our shed while the house is being built. So inconsistent, as others have been allowed to. We are on an acre and the shed is a long way away from the house and the house will be fenced off. It is disappointing as we were hoping to use it for storage and let our storage shed go to save some $. Also we have had to move our colors appointment to the 22nd, as I couldn't get the 8th off work. The 22nd is the next day hubby and I can do it together. We haven't even heard anything about electrical. Hubby emailed our CSO about it but we haven't heard back. We are hoping to do it the same day as colours, as it is very hard for me to take time off at the moment. Things have changed a lot since we built with them last time. Seem disorganised and inconsistent. Was happy to build with them a second time but at this rate there may not be a third lol Re: Building modified Coral Cloncurry on acreage, New Beith, 107Mar 10, 2017 6:48 pm Not much to update here. Just a few little issues to work through but nothing major. We haven't heard from Electrical and it is getting very hard to get time off work as we are short staffed. We are doing colours on the 22nd and was really hoping to do electrical the same day. Our CSO has tried emailing them on our behalf but we have still heard nothing. So frustrating. Our plans are still with the private certifier and they are unable to give us an idea of when it will be done. We were expecting to have to get a bush fire report but the owner of one of the blocks next door had one done and apparently we can use that one. The rating came back at 12.5 which we are happy with. Not much else to report really Re: Building modified Coral Cloncurry on acreage, New Beith, 108Mar 27, 2017 11:33 am It has been a while since I updated. We are still waiting for approval from the private certifier. There is an issue with the placement of the run-off for the HSTP going into where we are putting the shed. Coral wanted us to move the shed back but there is bush behind it and I really don't want to cut down our beautiful trees. So we have asked Coral to move the run-off area. Just waiting to hear back. We did our colours last week. Was very exciting! I estimate we spent about $5000 extra. We had added $3000 into the contract for it so it wasn't that much over. We have added in painting for the media room and master bedroom in dark colours but might take them out and do them ourselves. Outside colours - the three timbers are for the timber look garage door, the front door and the gables on the roof. The cupboards are white with black stone bench top. We have chosen 40mm stone for the island bench. The overhead cupboards and back of the island bench is the grey timber-look laminate. They had this one in a catalogue for around $260ish. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Because we upgraded the tap, we had to upgrade the kitchen sink to undermount. They had none on display so I took this pic. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We got this drain for the kitchen sink. I loved a lot of british paint's colours but dulux just didn't have what I wanted. I spent ages going through their samples (literally hundreds) and was going to settle on one called bleached which was kinda close enough. By then we had been at the show room for a few hours. Then I happened to look up and there was a wall at the showroom painted in the exact colour I was looking for! I hadn't noticed it before that lol. It turns out it is a New Zealand dulux colour called cashmere. She pulled out the NZ dulux colour book and they have some awesome colous! The actual colour is a little darker than the pic. I had to laugh because hubby is a kiwi and I grew up in NZ. It was around $1000 to upgrade Anyway, the consultant emailed me the next day to say they had one that was around $200 to upgrade. I was happy with that Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I think that was everything lol. This house is bigger than our last! oops! We have 70sqm of patio roofing to go on after the build too. I swear by getting a robo vac! Makes things so much easier Re: Building modified Coral Cloncurry on acreage, New Beith, 113Mar 28, 2017 2:13 pm Your choices look fantastic! We have colours fri can I ask with the free standing bath is that going in ensuite or main ? & do you know name of it by any chance? Also yr tap did you "have" to go undermount or just splurging while you can? just asking as wanting same tap but not undermount. We have 2hours for colours I hope it's enough Tia Re: Building modified Coral Cloncurry on acreage, New Beith, 114Mar 28, 2017 3:11 pm BrownDog77 Your choices look fantastic! We have 2hours for colours I hope it's enough Tia We are happy with our choices Can't wait to start now. Just waiting on them sorting out the hstp overflow and shed placement. We didn't have to go undermount with that tap. We wanted undermount and figured we would get a nice tap with it. We looked at the silver ones and she was saying they are a pain to clean with that spiral cover thingy. The bath is going in the ensuite. I should have done one in the main bathroom too. Didn't even think of it at the time. A good upgrade for $200ish. It is the "Posh solus freestanding bath". I can send you the brochure via PM if you want. I can't seem be able to load it onto here. Oh yes so true about springy thing never even thought of that ! Thanks so much I'd love a copy I so wish we could go up to GC for colours as there seems to be so many more options. I'll pm you my email if easier to send it to? $200 is awesome price Re: Building modified Coral Cloncurry on acreage, New Beith, 116Apr 02, 2017 10:04 am So, we did our electrical on Friday and... wow! so expensive. We had a $4000 allowance and we went $2300 over that! We didn't even get anything fancy and had to take the kitchen pendant lights out. The costs are going up and up and I am starting to stress about money. We are also wanting to add in data cabling in. They said another company will contact us for that. At least all our selections are done. We just have to wait for building approval and a start date! Hubby was going to build our deck and patio roof but his back has been really sore. We have decided to pay someone to do our patio roof which we hadn't budget for. We were going to do the deck ourselves but I don't think he will be able to do that either. So, yeah I am stressing. I might have to start learning how to build a deck lol. We added extra sockets and light battens at tender stage and still managed to add another $1,200 at the electrical appointment - so easily done with extra outdoor sockets, kitchen island sockets, 2 & 3 way light switches etc. Getting downlights, fans and other lights fitted after handover to save some dollars. Good luck with the build, looking forward to following your progress - it's so exciting watching it all take shape:-D Re: Building modified Coral Cloncurry on acreage, New Beith, 119Apr 10, 2017 12:59 pm em-n-craig Tamara1975 So, we did our electrical on Friday and... wow! so expensive. Re: Building modified Coral Cloncurry on acreage, New Beith, 120Apr 10, 2017 11:31 pm We have been blown away by how quickly it's going so far, I'm sure yours will too Hi, as per the subject. Does anyone have any recommendations for the best value decking oil (Bunning is close to where I live) for a treated pine deck? Thanks 0 1290 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 7208 Use a product like Equisol's Vitalise to clean the deck then coat with a penetrating timber oil. It will look 10 years younger and add value to your home.
