It's from Adriatic. They do have really nice things there.
Browse Forums Building A New House Re: New Build with Henley ( Palace Q1) 382Dec 11, 2016 1:48 pm stayxtrue Well hopefully they do resolve it this time, but how do they fix things like that? Rip the plaster off and do it all over again? Well the plaster needs to be pulled down and walls straightened/ plumbed. Re: New Build with Henley ( Palace Q1) 383Dec 11, 2016 1:59 pm So definitely a big stuff up! As long as they fix it and properly too! Re: New Build with Henley ( Palace Q1) 384Dec 11, 2016 2:29 pm stayxtrue So definitely a big stuff up! As long as they fix it and properly too! Yes a big stuff up. Lucky we picked it and arranged a independent inspector whom confirmed and provided a report with how to fix the problem. So now we won't take keys until all the issues have been rectified and rectified properly. Re: New Build with Henley ( Palace Q1) 385Dec 13, 2016 12:18 pm Mclaren77 Important tip! I noticed when we received final plans for our house there was no drawing of the staircase! So we thought well it must be as per display! Anyhow now that our staircase is in, I noticed that the balustrade to the ground floor going up is on the wrong side! Currently it's been placed on the left hand side as you go up when as per display it's on the right hand side! I'm requesting it to be moved as per the display! My reason for this is I prefer the balustrade hidden from the view of the front entrance hall. But for whoever is building the Palace you might want to check where yours is placed and save yourself the headache. We were never asked which side we wanted it, rather it was just put wherever they decide! Here's a pic to explain what I'm talking about. Excuse the kiddies in the pic! Re: New Build with Henley ( Palace Q1) 387Dec 20, 2016 3:21 pm Mclaren77 Today I made changes to our staircase hand rail and posts which will now be vivid white gloss! No stain for us anymore. Our decision was based upon our carpet choice being a dark grey, so we needed the contrast and white I feel will look great with the cast iron balusters. Lucky I changed my mind on the stain because our original colour for all internal timber work was Lexicon which I was told by the colour consultant at Cosham is white but found out today it's actually an off white. I need a clean white so changed to vivid white which will look great with our wall colour which is a grey ( vanilla quake half). Hi Mclaren, I am having doubts about our dark wood stain and dark carpet. Did Henley charge you for this change? So have been catching up on your thread. We had huge issues with our frame work not being straightening and planned before plaster. It's no a big job to have it all rectified so far it's taken 3 weeks to get it fixed and it's still going on! After speaking to other people that have built with Henley in our area, they've all had the same problem. New Build with Henley ( Palace Q1) 396Dec 23, 2016 8:08 am The facade was the only part of the house I had a mental image on how it would turn out. For me the sketch of the facade really stood out to me, clean lines and would look great with the colours I wanted. So glad it turned out Here's an updated pic of the facade with our very dusty garage door. Yep we are getting independent inspectors for every single stage, its a small price to pay for the peace of mind. It must be the trades in the area that are not doing their job properly, but its also up to Henley to ensure that they are doing the right checks before plaster goes on. We will be requesting a certain SS as he is the husband of my fiances work colleague Re: New Build with Henley ( Palace Q1) 398Dec 23, 2016 8:12 am Mclaren77 The facade was the only part of the house I had a mental image on how it would turn out. It's was a popular facade, maybe cost was a factor for Henley, I was shocked how cheap it was to get this facade compared to the Austin. Yep thats what our Sales Consultant told us, it was about them costing more to build than what they had them advertised to be. Plus they also said that more and more people are choosing not to have balconies and they are just not building them anymore. So they saw no need to have them there anymore. However they may be bringing out some newer designs. Because we wontbe building for another 6 months it will be interesting to see if there are anymore facades to come.
