Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our new family home Metricon Metro 32 QLD 481Feb 10, 2017 2:23 pm Everything's fantastic! Looks like you could move in right now! Re: Our new family home Metricon Metro 32 QLD 483Feb 11, 2017 10:53 pm beac_faith Thank you bubbaganoosh. We're back from holidays and visited our site just now. Hubby has now changed his mind about the chocolate pillar and decided he could live with it it looks better in person. We couldn't get inside so we did whatever we could to see from outside. Most LEDs are installed. Our pendants over the island bench and rangehood are in. Saw what looks like a toilet bowl sitting near the kitchen, waiting to be fixed. I must say the bricks look a whole lot better than i imagined initially! Our bricks are in progress, and almost complete. Poor guys worked today as well, despite being a hot Saturday in QLD We bought some cold water bottles for them, our way of thanking them for their effort. Re: Our new family home Metricon Metro 32 QLD 484Feb 11, 2017 11:26 pm Kitchen and bathrooms are looking awesome beac! I like the chocolate pillar too because it's a bit different to your neighbours colours so it makes your house stand out nicely and it's got really good continuity with your interior colours so everything looks like it flows from the outside to inside Follow our build with Express Two Storey (Ventura Group): viewtopic.php?f=31&t=85122 Re: Our new family home Metricon Metro 32 QLD 485Feb 12, 2017 7:14 pm Thank you all! It's been a crazy busy few days since we arrived home from our holidays. Our eldest started kindy on Friday, we visited the Franklyn showroom yesterday for their crimsafe and blinds. Our concreter should be able to come back with a quote tomorrow so we can get things moving. Appointment made for WIR measure in 2 weeks. Hopefully installation can be done early March. We were at Harvey Norman again today and quite like this dining suite. Thinking of a 9-piece but will have to see how our budget goes. And delivery to QLD is $200 which is not too bad. Only downside is we don't get to try the furniture before buying Re: Our new family home Metricon Metro 32 QLD 490Feb 14, 2017 7:06 pm hehehee, that's right? We've already received an email from M today talking about arranging a walk through. I noticed some irregular brickwork on the corner of our alfresco, with different sizes and some of them laid crooked. Some parts of the bricks were also overhanging the slab. Can someone tell me what's the maximum it can overhang? Pretty sure some bricks were sticking out as much as 2cm. Couldn't really get a clear view of the colour since it was really dark, but it's suppose to be a dark beige. Re: Our new family home Metricon Metro 32 QLD 494Feb 18, 2017 8:40 am So our SM is confident our approximate handover date is accurate. Our walk through appointment will be this Tuesday 21st. Does anyone have a checklist on what I should be looking out for? Hopefully we wouldn't find too many issues with the house. In other news we'll be getting our driveway poured hopefully mid March.. concreters seem really busy. They're the same guys who poured our slab for M last time and their quote turned out to be the cheaper one of the two we compared. Concreting is costing us about $11k and our crimsafe and blinds are also quoted at that figure we're going to be eating dust until the sale of our current home. Re: Our new family home Metricon Metro 32 QLD 495Feb 19, 2017 5:34 pm So super efficient up here Metricon QLD! Might have to hit you up for the concretes details when I get a bit closer to the end. Build thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=83484 Our Glendale 39, SA Re: Our new family home Metricon Metro 32 QLD 499Feb 21, 2017 10:23 am Walk through just completed. Took over an hour. I would have stayed a bit longer if hubby didn't have to rush to work. So many things to look out for and our house is filled with pieces of blue tape by the end of it. House needs another round of cleaning before handover, which is now fixed for the 9/03. Overall we're quite happy with everything. Most problems were paintwork that needed touching up, some loose toilet seats, kitchen splashback that had some irregular tiles which will be redone. Our stove hasn't gone in yet, they're leaving it till the end in case someone comes in to steal the appliance. Apparently they're also leaving the final coat on stairs until the last minute. Didn't really have the time to take many photos but got a few quick ones here and there Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Keen to hear from people in the area who have got KDRB done on whom they got the build from?
