So M is charging more for different colours? That's pretty silly. With the guys I went with, I could pretty much pick any colour and they just paint it. Renman Dulie What are some of your regrets? - Floor to ceiling tiles to all toilets and not just guest powder room and bathrooms. - Kitchen window and pantry window to have frames, weird one I know but it was something we didn't pickup from the plans, so now overhead cupboards have a gap between it and the window. - Gone with something better than laminex for the kitchen cupboards. - 40mm stone edge for all the kitchen instead of just the bench. - Should have replaced the walk in pantry shelves with extra bench space and cupboards. - Kitchen design overall, even perhaps going bare minimum and doing it all post handover. Didn't realize it was so easy, an external company comes and does it all anyways. I think that it for now off the top of my head. Probably more once we move in lol. PCI was scheduled for this Friday, but the misses is busy. So we have re-scheduled for Tuesday next week! =D Re: KDR Metricon Liberty - Hampshire 45 QLD 866Mar 27, 2017 11:04 pm Looking good Dulie. We decided not to do it in any of the WC in the house. Hoping we don't regret it like you did. - Kitchen window, do you have a close up photo of what you mean? We decided to go with the Series 100 windows frame for the kitchen and pantry compared to the rest of the windows been Series 300. - WIP, you see to have plenty of space already for storage. - Kitchen design, we were going to do exactly this but M in Melb don't allow any third party contractor onsite during the build. Will be hard to do kitchen cabinets once the floor is in. Re: KDR Metricon Liberty - Hampshire 45 QLD 869Mar 28, 2017 7:47 am Love your under mount sink in the bathroom. Totally wishing I had done with that instead of the standard sink! What are the major leftover items before PCI? Thanks Nab. As for items, not much. It's really just painting and the facade. The brickie assigned to my house has been super slack, his the only one that has slowed things down. House is pretty much done, yet bricks are still incomplete... But yeah, the cost is a pretty big ticket item hence we left it out. Wish we didn't =( - For our kitchen/pantry window they have done a plaster reveal, so all the frames are hidden. It says PR on our plans, didn't know it stood for plaster reveal... You can see pics below. Ended up paying quite a bit extra to have glass splash back to cover up all the plastering. Which I believe you are correct? Just get the kitchen guys in before the flooring guys. This would be a normal window. As you can see it has a wooden surrounding. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ This is Vu's pic. His window has plaster reveal, no surrounding. We wanted that colour and until now I still don't know what went wrong during selection at studio M lol. What's the stain? Re: KDR Metricon Liberty - Hampshire 45 QLD 879Mar 28, 2017 9:25 pm Your plans look good Ren, the cupboards pretty much sit inline with the window. Just like your pic, you'd think there be a frame around the window but there isn't!!!! It's hidden behind plaster! lol. Just the effort to rip out the cornices, remove the toilets, remove the mirrors, tile then get everything installed again. Just too much hassle. As for plaster boards vs gyprock I have no idea. But I do know that they use different stuff in the real wet areas like the bathrooms compared to the rest of the house. Toilets got the normal stuff. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 8198 |
