Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our Build - Burbank - Crimson 1700 in Trillium, Mickleha 121Oct 29, 2016 12:36 pm You could see the roof tile at the front left corner above the garage wasn't sitting flush. Where it meets the ridge it was a little lifted and not sitting right. The other one was over the other side about the eaves, it was just the lowest row where half a tile worth of space was open. I went around the house with the ladder and checked the roof as well as being inside and checking for daylight Re: Our Build - Burbank - Crimson 1700 in Trillium, Mickleha 122Nov 06, 2016 4:49 pm Hey guys, I spoke to our SS on Friday and we are still on track to have everything done by the end of this week. On Friday after chatting to him we sent the final invoice to the bank so they can get the ball rolling to release the final funds and produce the cheque. There is a process to this with them getting a separate valuation company out to check over everything. This process can take them overall, once receiving that invoice, about 8-10 days hence why we got onto it now because once we agree to everything being fixed up settlement isn't far off so wanted to be prepared. Also, I'm going to be making our side gate. Going to be getting a steel gate frame which I found someone who makes them nearby... originally the plan was to screw merbau or spotted gum timber to get a really nice look. I've actually just found a product called Eko deck at bunnings that is a composite style decking board which we really like. Also helps the fact there is zero maintenance with staining and things like that. Just wondering if anyone has used a product like this? Re: Our Build - Burbank - Crimson 1700 in Trillium, Mickleha 124Nov 07, 2016 9:19 pm Speaking of Eko deck. We were thinking about it but decided to do tiling instead as our alfresco will be used for cooking too. Check out the easy protector ( aluminium slats) by Bunnings. It is as good as the stratco slats and $10 cheaper each. I was going to customise for our front fences but it is beyond our budget. Re: Our Build - Burbank - Crimson 1700 in Trillium, Mickleha 125Nov 07, 2016 9:22 pm capricorn That's good. Just curious, did you encounter any theft during your build? We had a couple and the SS thinks it is by their ex contractors. Umm no not really... The only thing I can think of that had gone missing was the pull out bin that is in a cupboard from the kitchen pack we got. Same thing, think it was a tradie. capricorn Speaking of Eko deck. OK thanks, I'll look into it Re: Our Build - Burbank - Crimson 1700 in Trillium, Mickleha 127Nov 17, 2016 9:19 pm Hi haven't been updating too much. Bit of a delay with occupancy certificate. We should hopefully receive it tomorrow and then supervisor will push for settlement early next week because everything is ready, have the final cheque and everything. Because we were meant to have it last week and move this week I had worked out for our flooring to get done. Myself and a mate with the laminate tomorrow and carpet Saturday. For the inconvenience the supervisor has been great and let us in anyway, without having to wait for settlement which is great! Got the floors prepped and most underlay down this afternoon so will finish all laminate tomorrow Re: Our Build - Burbank - Crimson 1700 in Trillium, Mickleha 129Nov 18, 2016 9:20 pm Thanks We done majority of our laminate floors today, just myself and a friend. Should finish them off tomorrow. Got a call during the day that settlement is Tuesday morning at 10:30am! Re: Our Build - Burbank - Crimson 1700 in Trillium, Mickleha 131Nov 20, 2016 9:50 pm Thank you! We can hardly wait! Flooring looks great! Once we get the house tomorrow I'll post pictures Re: Our Build - Burbank - Crimson 1700 in Trillium, Mickleha 135Nov 21, 2016 11:13 am Settlement is being pushed back! They haven't got the appliances available so have to wait for them.
