They greys tend to be in the higher categories with all builders (I'm talking like thousands extra) 😣
From memory 4 of the access range bricks were cat 1. I know chestnut is 2 as we were considering it before deciding on truffle

We have signed our estimate and have now decided we would like to make some changes do you think we will be charged? Re: Fairhaven Homes Newport 361 in Sth East Melbourne 243Jan 20, 2017 9:38 pm Depends what you're changing. We got charged a customisation fee to totally redesign the kitchen but other than that just normal costs until our final contract, and then all changes after that come with a $250 post contract variation fee so you should have plenty of time. All standard changes such as side entry to stairs and adding vanity to upstairs powder room - changing doors to theatre room, keep the study as a study and not 5th bedroom even though we will still increase the size by having the two bedrooms with wir at the rear like you are Thanks so much for all your help I really appreciate it Re: Fairhaven Homes Newport 361 in Sth East Melbourne 245Jan 20, 2017 10:05 pm All of that is not locked u ntil contract so you should be fine to make changes. Just make sure you triple check they've changed everything as you've requested. We made a tonne of changes so had a lot of back and forth before they got it 100% right. Do you have land already? Have you chosen a facade? Re: Fairhaven Homes Newport 361 in Sth East Melbourne 246Jan 21, 2017 6:44 am Kat_1025 All of that is not locked u ntil contract so you should be fine to make changes. Yeah we do it's in Saltwater coast point cook but doesn't settle until March next year but we wanted to lock in prices - we have chosen the quay facade Re: Fairhaven Homes Newport 361 in Sth East Melbourne 247Jan 21, 2017 8:21 am Nae84 Kat_1025 All of that is not locked u ntil contract so you should be fine to make changes. Point Cook is beautiful and the time will fly by. We locked in prices in Feb last year and had to wait until November for site cut too. The estate is amazing we're in dandenong north at the moment and I've grown up here so a big move for myself and my daughter my partner grew up out western suburbs How early did you do your colour apt and how long after the colour apt did you have to pay 5% Re: Fairhaven Homes Newport 361 in Sth East Melbourne 249Jan 21, 2017 8:58 am Big move but will be worth it. Great family life in point Cook I've heard. We paid deposit in Feb, colours end of may and paid the 5% after tender in August I think it was. Have they told you how long they lock the price for? Do you pay extra for being over 12 months? Re: Fairhaven Homes Newport 361 in Sth East Melbourne 253Jan 22, 2017 12:14 pm Kat_1025 Big move but will be worth it. Do you pay extra for being over 12 months? We had to pay $4500 to lock in prices for 18 months but with their prices going up every couple of months it's worth it Re: Fairhaven Homes Newport 361 in Sth East Melbourne 257Jan 22, 2017 1:45 pm aloenyx Whoo!!! Colourbond moment!!! Gonna be a BIG house XD Looking great. Yep monument for the win haha. We were always going for a darker roof but the rest of the external colours I was a little unsure of so hoping it turns out the way I imagined. I have to go back and choose a new feature tile as the one I originally selected I saw in a display and it was not at all what I wanted haha. I'm pretty sure my admin possibly hates me and my 101 emails haha Re: Fairhaven Homes Newport 361 in Sth East Melbourne 258Jan 22, 2017 1:50 pm Haha!! Yes you may be on the "oh gawd not again" list I did okay with my colours, I picked everything in 1.5hr, and I've stuck with them (not that I really had an option to change either)... Only thing I did was ask to take the mosaic tiles out, because I didn't like the pattern they were planning to use. I'm sure it will all look lovely!! I'm still nervous about my facade, won't know if I like it till the render is done. Re: Fairhaven Homes Newport 361 in Sth East Melbourne 259Jan 22, 2017 1:57 pm Haha I would definitely be on "the list"... Oh well I'd rather be annoying now and get what I want. Might have to get my admin a bottle of wine at the end though 😂 Won't be long now until your facade is complete. Best part about render is you can just repaint if you hate it haha Re: Fairhaven Homes Newport 361 in Sth East Melbourne 260Jan 22, 2017 2:00 pm So true. You need to be persistent. I let a few things go, but sort of wish I'd pursued them more now. I think the render will be okay, but your right about repainting XD I was lucky with the bricks, the first time I met my builder was at one of his house's and it was in the same brick, so I picked that months before my colour appointment XD It's funny though, I always wanted a light colour house (as you can probably tell from my furniture choices, that's where my tastes lie), but they didn't have any light coloured bricks or roof tiles in the standard range and I didn't want to pay to upgrade. May I ask why you chose not to use GJ Gardiner? I'm actually meeting with one of the sales guys tomorrow for an appointment.
