Lovely Re: Simonds Sierra - Adelaide, South Australia 44Apr 28, 2016 12:16 pm Thank you for sharing all those pics, they're all so beautiful. I like the cupboards you've put up the top of the fridge alcove, are they quite slim to allow for ventilation or do they go nearly all the way back to the wall? I like the cupboards you've put up the top of the fridge alcove, are they quite slim to allow for ventilation or do they go nearly all the way back to the wall? From what I remember they go in pretty much all the way back! I'll have to get back to you on that one and have a proper look Re: Simonds Sierra - Adelaide, South Australia 46Apr 28, 2016 12:38 pm No stress Was it an upgrade or included in a promotion? The only thing that is stopping us from moving in is SA power providing electricity for our newly established development, unfortunately when our development was completed and ready to be built in, power was supplied and people stole fuse boxes and copper wiring impacting the electricity supply. We probably would have been moved in by now if it didnt happen, so it has been out of our hands for the past two weeks. Nevertheless we took it as a blessing and time to do some last minute shopping and pay off our appliances and window coverings. And it has given Simonds time to walkthrough and pick up on minor things that have been fixed over the two weeks prior to our final PCI. The electricity will be resupplied on the 5th of May, and then we are due for our PCI meeting! Any tips on what we should be looking out for?? I want to be fully prepared for it haha! Thanks in advance! Re: Simonds Sierra - Adelaide, South Australia 49Apr 28, 2016 8:16 pm Yes. Download Brian Bashworth's PCI inspection list from his www.anewhouse.com.au (I think) website. Re: Simonds Sierra - Adelaide, South Australia 53Apr 28, 2016 10:14 pm Thanks! The Rathdowne is part of the express range, all the houses are based on some of the more popular designs from the regular range. We are so happy to be in, the whole process was almost too easy we kept waiting for bad news or a setback. Like you though I know that it's not always the smoothest of rides but it seems most Simonds people have had good luck. Weve had such a wonderful experience and hope you do too! Re: Simonds Sierra - Adelaide, South Australia 57Apr 30, 2016 4:22 pm Hi guys, just a general question here. Trying to organise fencing and its been so complicated with my neighbours, we gave them all the appropriate paper work and all we got back was a copy of their plans and a written letter on a scrap piece of paper ?. Not only are they building on the boundary, they are also elevating their slab for their one story home, and are requesting to get requoted for a higher fence. Which we dont mind at the end of the day as that fence resides where our alfresco area is. But, does that mean they have to pay extra, say 40% / 60% split as it was an elected choice made my neighbours?? If anyone could shed some light on this, that would be great! Thanks Re: Simonds Sierra - Adelaide, South Australia 58Apr 30, 2016 5:13 pm I wish I knew the answer, fencing seems to be a bit of a minefield Re: Simonds Sierra - Adelaide, South Australia 59Apr 30, 2016 5:24 pm Marshall5858 I wish I knew the answer, fencing seems to be a bit of a minefield Oh it is. Our formal letter required signatures and everything for consent to erect the fence and we got none of our paperwork back, just a scrap peice of paper with a few sentences and a phone call from them, literally having to explain everything again in detail even though it was clear in the letter. I feel like knocking my head on the wall hahahahaha! I swear it shouldnt be this difficult lol! Re: Simonds Sierra - Adelaide, South Australia 60Apr 30, 2016 6:22 pm That's why I prefer to speak to people in person then following up in writing. I think a lot of wires get crossed when people read things.
