Once we saw quote for it... OMG...
This what I found unfair because majority of display houses has this "option" and nobody tells that this is not included.
Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Casaview Homes 341Jan 05, 2017 7:48 am I agree totally support this. We chose the whitest of white for wall and the same colour in semi-gloss for skirting and architraves. The architraves look fine but the skirtings look like they are 10 years old, made worse by their extra 92mm widths. We're planning to put floor boards laters so will paint to match the colour. xyz Tip #2. When quoting, mention that you need architraves, internal doors, skirting, balustrade, etc. in colour different than walls. Believe it or not, but this is upgrade. Typically people select walls in colour slightly darker than snow white, but having balustrade or doors in the same colour as walls... Once we saw quote for it... OMG... I am going through the process of drawings for my house with casaview now and have purchased a house and land package (Elite 33). When i purchased this i did no that their was a slop to the block and i would need to put a step down inside the house. My thoughts were no big problem i can place it in the hall way leading to the rear of the house. Now my problem is that they have come back to me with the drawing and placed the step down at the rear of the house and in doing so have told me that i now will not have a sliding glass door to access my alfresco area and that they would put a high window in its place. What this means is losing some of the open plan style i was going for and having to access the alfresco area by going through another area of the house. their are a few little other issues but none that im not will to live with as i knew about the slop. to me this is a big problem and casaview are not able to supply me with one of the main points of the house. So what are your thoughts on this and what can i do. Am i able to push back nicely. ?? Re: Casaview Homes 348Jan 16, 2017 12:49 pm so why cant the sliding doors be installed??is the step down just before the rumpus/ dining/alfresco sliding door? Re: Casaview Homes 349Jan 16, 2017 1:10 pm I am so sorry to hear this because like you, we liked the fact that rumpus and kitchen opened into the alfresco via sliding/stacker doors. Looking at the plan, I am sure they will have to put a set of steps and that being as wide as the sliding door will turn out costly for them, considering its a H&L package. They are basically trying to save that cost. When I was building they had all contingencies built in the package price - fire, uneven sites, slab upgrade, drop edge beams etc - which made the package price exorbitant but gave us owners a peace of mind that everything will be taken care of. Ask them why they can't put the sliding door and see what they tell you. And are they going to credit you with the difference in cost (doors are heaps more expensive than windows)? Don't talk to the draftsmen or the salespeople. Talk directly with the GM who is a very approachable person from our experience (if he is still there). When we put the deposit down it was included that we get all site costs including DEB, Slab upgrade and all that stuff. Like you said, i feel that they are just trying to save cost and wiggle their way out of it. I know what i have paid for and will try push back but just not to sure how far i can. Will see what happens later today. Also, I just got sent my colors pack, and was very disappointed with the brick option. i was looking to get a dark grey brick but now it looks like i will have to pay to upgrade that. from a quick search on here i found that some people are paying up to 15k for a different brick. Re: Casaview Homes 351Jan 18, 2017 11:01 am Hi All Have an update fro yesterdays meeting. After talking to the drafts person it was clear why we could not retain the rear sliding doors if we were to put the drop down at the very rear of the house. However after spending some time moving things around we were able to come up with a solution which is not perfect but better then losing a big selling point of the house. We were able to move the Drop edge to the hallway and have the whole rear section of the house drop down. Only down fall to this was i had to sacrifice my internal entry point to the garage. We went back and forth with many ideas and was very happy with the time and explanations on each idea that i was given. So drawings are now moving on and getting ready for the next step. Not sure if they have done the soil test yet. At this point i think it is just preliminary drawings. Re: Casaview Homes 355Jan 22, 2017 6:07 pm paid a visit to the PGH Showroom this arvo. trying to choose a color I liked was extremely difficult. didnt like any of the standard range. got it down to 6 colors and noted addresses for drivebys next weekend. Re: Casaview Homes 357Jan 26, 2017 8:35 am ss2211 At the color selection meeting, do they give a 3d render of what the external will look like based on colors chosen? I'm afraid not mate. would be awesome if they did thou. Re: Casaview Homes 359Jan 28, 2017 6:06 pm xyz Price guide.
