We had to pick a base facade and push the "project builder" as far as we could with changes. SS Confirmed the back doors must stay as they are. UNEVEN. I don't even care even I'm being dramatic, but at the moment, I don't even WANT this house. How can no one ever say, oh so your plans have even doors and so does the display home but we reserve the right to make the doors uneven. Reason? The steel beam above the door.... What does that even mean for my blinds in the inside? EHI has ordered the pelmets and roller blinds for there...anyone know if they could possibly be positioned to hide this??? The unevenness looks bad from the outside but it will be worse from the inside... viewtopic.php?f=31&t=82062 Madison 37 - site start 16.2.16 Re: Clarendon Madison 37 in The Grove 126May 13, 2016 5:10 pm If the display has even doors and your plans have even doors then yours should too. B R O N T E. 43 http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=79581 Thanks for that We knew there'd be a steel beam but because the doors are the exact same size as the Parklea display home we thought they'd be uniform like the display. Someone on the Clarendon thread said they could probably gyprock the inside to be the same, so that's a lot better but still doesn't resolve the outside... Paid a visit to the new Madison 38 display at Oran Park today and just to add insult to injury, it also has the same size stackers but they've put the aluminium strip between the brick and doors on both sides. Common sense! I love how they thought enough about it for the display but for someone's home they just don't care This is the display at oran park Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Even worse, we wanted the timber on the ceiling, were told that Clarendon is a project builder and doesn't do that!, and there's a fireplace on an internal wall which we were told was not something Clarendon did. Our SS has been great so don't want to get him offside...I'm wondering if they can take a row of bricks off the smaller side and put the aluminium strip above that door too....who knows! So we had our meeting on site with our SS today.... We were thrilled and surprised when we turned up and the rendering had been done to the corbeling and pillars! Love it so much! Our SS explained that our finished floor height, steel beam due to the extra large door and the recessing of our doors meant that there was nothing that could be done with the big door. I showed him the pictures of the Parklea and Oran Park Madison displays with even brick heights above the doors...I asked if maybe he can take a row of bricks off the top of the smaller door and then both doors can have an aluminium strip above. So now we wait to hear what the brickie says if it's not possible then there's nothing that can be done trying not to give up hope. Just so frustrating because we would never have done the stacker doors had we known On a plus note, our internal door that admin refused to upgrade can be increased height so all 4 hall doors will be the same height thank goodness! Also, our estimated date of completion is late September/early October. Let's hope it's somewhat sooner because after 14 months living with my mum and sister and only mums ensuite bathroom in working order we need our house! I am also looking at the stacker doors, and whilst they won't be next to each other they are all in the same room and I would want them the same height. My question is that you mention you had the doors "recessed". Was this in to the slab or something different. And was the purpose of redesign the door to make it so the " track" of the stacker door is flush with your finish floor height? Just trying to understand what options are available with the door installs. Thanks Clarendon Madison 37 in The Grove 138May 30, 2016 7:30 pm Cend15 Just been reading through your thread and sorry to see the troubles you are having with the stacker door heights. Just trying to understand what options are available with the door installs. Thanks Hi Our problem is that one door was so big it needed a steel beam above it rather than a timber one. Check your plans. If it says steel beam then I would double check with your SS that the brick height will be the same above both doors. They can do this by placing an aluminium strip above both doors. I just don't know if they can do it retrospectively for us. From inside, we are told the gyprock will be the same height. We recessed the doors into the slab so there is a very minimal to no step and the floor flows smoothly inside to outside.
