Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Metricon Henderson 42 61Mar 28, 2016 7:12 pm M and T, love all your choices for your home, just wondering what kitchen cabinet profile did you go with? Re: Metricon Henderson 42 62Mar 29, 2016 1:06 pm Whitefresh, thank you we still have lots more choices to make at our internals appointments on 19th and 20th April. I am thinking a white shaker style profile with a polyurethane satin finish on our kitchen cabinetry - fully dependant on cost of course and if Kitchen Culture can do it. I have loads of inspirational pics from Houzz and Pinterest! What about yourself?? I'm always interested in other people's colour choices and designs for inspiration Welcome to our version of the Metricon Henderson viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81978 https://metriconhenderson.wordpress.com Re: Metricon Henderson 42 63Mar 31, 2016 4:09 pm I am thinker I want a shaker profile too, all depends on cost though. Just by the style of your house I thought you might be getting something similar and I was hoping you'd already been to M and could tell me how much it would be. I love the style and colours of your house, I am going to try and do similar with mine. I just won't have the weatherboard look. Was the weatherboard much to upgrade with M? I wonder If I could ask them to do bottom floor in weatherboard and top in render, not sure If they would do it or If I'd even be able to afford it. Metricon Henderson 42 64Mar 31, 2016 7:51 pm Thank you, I can only hope the colour choices I've made will work well together.
I know Metricon will do a weatherboard on top and a different material on the bottom however I haven't seen them do it in reverse but it's definitely worth asking. Interestingly, it was actually cheaper to go weatherboard for the whole home and we were credited back a small amount I'll keep you posted once I do my kitchen appointment. It was supposed to be late April but will now be at the beginning of May. Please let me know if you have your kitchen appointment before mine, I'm really interested to know the shaker profile pricing... I'm still waiting to hear from them what's happening next. Re: Metricon Henderson 42 66Apr 15, 2016 7:26 am Metricon finally submitted our plans to council on 1st April (yay!) We keep checking the online tracking system to see how things are progressing and things seem to be moving along well. BUT, we just received a letter from councils DA review team requesting an elevational shadow diagram to show the elevational shadows cast on our neighbours Windows through winter. Now our neighbours are actually half way through a single storey build, so Metricon has to put in a GIPA search to access our neighbours plans and then prepare the shadow diagram accordingly. A bit worried as M said they haven't encountered this request before and council has said the neighbours will need at least 3 hours of unobstructed light in their north facing Windows through the hours of 9 and 4 in winter. I have a feeling our Henderson will tower over their windows all day ? Has anyone experienced a similar request from council? We have a single getting built alongside us, hoping we don't encounter issues Re: Metricon Henderson 42 70Apr 15, 2016 7:21 pm Don't worry, I think this is specific to my local council , I don't think M has done many builds within our council area. Wish you all the best for next week, I can't believe it can take that long. such a long process Metricon Henderson 42 79Apr 17, 2016 8:28 pm Thanks for that Neville S. At least I know now what the diagram should look like. I'm really hoping Metricon are on the ball with this one and don't cause any more delays getting this diagram lodged to council. 13 to 14 weeks in council seems excessive. Have they given you a reason for the delay? Could it just be a very busy period for council or were there any concerns regarding your plans or any additional information that was required? We have been given an anticipated date of completion through council which equates to around 7 weeks if there are no other hiccups. Our neighbour notification period hasn't ended yet though so I won't relax a bit until that part's over! I really don't want to have to complain about the council but it is getting beyond a joke.
