Sadly for us they put it in and it was the day before the Sydney storm last April, we 250mm rain and the pool floated and they had to do it again. viewtopic.php?t=78985 Re: Metricon Henderson 42 170Jun 01, 2016 12:43 am How close to the house is the pool going to be M and T viewtopic.php?f=31&t=83489 Re: Metricon Henderson 42 171Jun 06, 2016 7:07 am How is your pool excavation holding up M and T? You must be cursing this weather!! viewtopic.php?t=78985 Sorry for the late reply - my app isn't updating properly! Luckily the pool was installed by Thursday and the heavy rain started on Friday. I haven't actually been out to the site since all that rain though so hopefully our pool hasn't floated away! Did you see the pics on FB of the pool in Collaroy that came out during the storm??!!! It looked just like ours. Hey, do you think your pool issues could be attributed to it being installed during a rainy period? How is the investigation going? We wanted to avoid any additional piering / costs from Metricon so we made sure it was over 3m. Re: Metricon Henderson 42 175Jun 07, 2016 12:09 am Hi M and T, do you know if they had poured the Bond beam before the rain? Ours was installed but the bond beam was not poured as they were still back filling and the pool floated up with the rain. You should visit the site and make sure the pool is still intact. Not sure if our current issues are because of the installation being done during wet conditions but I've had a gut full with LP. They have been slack and unresponsive. Hubby and I are planning to give them an ultimatum and take it to FT if they don't get their act together. We are also in the process of engaging a structural engineer to have a look at the pool. viewtopic.php?t=78985 Re: Metricon Henderson 42 176Jun 07, 2016 7:53 am Franky40 Hi M and T, do you know if they had poured the Bond beam before the rain? Going out to the site to check on the pool as soon as I drop the kids off! Couldn't get there yesterday due to work. Re: structural engineer, if you need the details of one Pm me as we had to get a structural engineer's report before the pool could even get approved as we are in a flood zone. They were very quick and from memory the cost was $660. I really hope you can recover the costs of fixing your leak, it's ridiculous that the pool company is denying responsibility. Maybe they'll pay more attention if they have a FB page and you comment via that or possibly Product Review website? Thank you viewtopic.php?t=78985 Metricon Henderson 42 178Jun 07, 2016 9:22 am Also just a word of advice make sure you get the PCA to send you reports at each inspection. Make sure he confirms the stage meets the required Australian standards (AS 1839 deals with Fiberglass pool inspections) According to Building Professionals Board (Govt body that accredits PCAs etc) the PCAs are meant to confirm if the stage meets codes and standards. As our pool company engaged the PCA on our behalf, we assumed the bond beam inspection would be coordinated between the PCA and the pool company. This is not unreasonable assumption as this is how the process worked with M and their PCA the Local group we did not have to coordinate inspections. Now the PCA that was engaged by the pool company on our behalf has been disqualified the pool company is not responding to me when I question if the bond beam inspection was carried out and if I can have a copy of the report. When I ring around to speak to PCA's to get them to replace most of them don't take on replacement. Those who do are a bit like "we just check the pool fence complies with requirements"!! I am like even I can do that so not sure why I need a PCA. Lesson lived at learnt always engage your own PCA independently after speaking to a few and preferably make sure you get the council to be your PCA. viewtopic.php?t=78985 Re: Metricon Henderson 42 179Jun 08, 2016 10:11 pm Thanks M and T we are going also putting a pool in near the alfresco area Re: Metricon Henderson 42 180Jun 21, 2016 8:16 am Feeling so frustrated with Metricon right now!
