I know how frustrating waiting around is.....trust me it is definitely worth it in the end viewtopic.php?t=78985 Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 1524Aug 31, 2016 9:59 pm Thanks Toni, HGM, leelee and Franky!! As long as they are there I don't mind so much if they work slow if they are doing a great job They were there for a full day today, we were supposed to have rain and storms but only got a little drizzle about 1pm thank goodness! They were onto our moonshadow brick at the front today hope the natural mortar dries ok, we couldn't afford the off white unfortunately!! Can't wait to see those moonshadow bricks go up, a wonderful choice even if I say so myself! I think the mortar will look perfectly fine - it's the brick that's the feature in their own right:-) I agree re timeframes - one thing I question with my build is just how quick they've done stuff. Id almost have preferred they worked at a slightly slower pace. That said, I still feel very comfortable about everything - my independent inspector from NHI said they've done a great job with the build with few issues compared to others out there - all of which have been rectified. We will see what comes from the last inspection which I imagine won't be all that far away given the progress they've made. I will cross all my fingers and toes and limbs that the pesky rain holds off and they power through the rest! The bricks are looking hot! C U S T O M. C O R A L. I wouldn't be too concerned about quality from the speed of it either, it's more well managed trades that results in a quicker build really! Re: Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 1533Sep 01, 2016 9:31 pm Thanks guys re bricks, I'm a bit disappointed to be honest! Still looks ok, just not as good as if hoped. Emmz, they haven't really said timeframe, but basically it's taken them 7.5 days so far to get around the house at that height (full height to side of garage), so I'm hoping if they bring in their stands they will get to the top of the blue wrap by end of next week and then they will need scaffolding to do the top of front piers. It's quite cheap to do after. That's my plan if I don't like the way my bricks turn out.
