Re: McDonald Jones Home - Miami 15, Miami 16, Miami Excutive 3Jan 16, 2016 6:59 pm Hi Staubs, Thank you for your reply, and blog info. Where abouts are you building? We are doing a knock down re-build on the Soutn Coast NSW. We viewed the Miami 16m display home out near Campbeltown today, and was lucky to view the Miami Executive 16 being build near by, which helped us decide the bigger rooms was what we needed, hence going with the Excutive. We are in early planning stage of what we want to modify on the floor plans to suit our needs, then hope to get quote this week, prior to the price rise.. If you don't mind me asking roughly what was your total quoted prices, and what changes have you made and charges ect? Is it possible to get a email copy of your quote and floor plans, or post on your blog? Obviously hiding personal information. Kind regards, Mel Re: McDonald Jones Home - Miami 15, Miami 16, Miami Excutive 4Jan 23, 2016 3:57 pm Hi Everyone, Just thought Id post a quick note here and add further details later. Ive appreciated reading about others experiences with the plans. We are building a Miami Exec 16 with a few mods. We are up to the prelim presentation stage but have quite a few extra changes to add to the prelim plans. Some of the biggest modifications so far include: - Addition of hallway from master to activities area, relocating the entrance to mast and bed 2 to off this hallway (extra 1 m added to the house width). This has also meant mods to the ensuite and robe layout. - This also adds an extra 1m to the following room - activity, bath and bed 3. - Added one glass entry door and double hung windows to kids activity. - Added third garage - Changed "store" in laundry to be a powder room and the fridge cavity now next to pantry in kitchen - Moved the door to the main powder room to the hallway - changed all windows to double hung from the "signature" range (wanted thicker frames) We are also trying to add either bifold windows to the kitchen or removing the bulkhead and increasing height of the fixed splashback window - we really want to be able to see out that side of the kitchen (onto bushland) - but not sure if they can help with this yet. I'll try to post some plans soon. Cheers, Shan Hi AKG, We had a base tender of $592 for 31 squares from MC Donald Jones. It looks relatively cheaper than other builders.
