Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 41Apr 10, 2016 11:35 pm I didn't even know you could do your own conveyancing! Nothing new here re land. We should have our tender, specifications and final plans back in the next two weeks. We are booked in for contracts on the 2nd may. I've also now got the suppliers contracts that we can go too to have a look at tiles and flooring. I'm super excited about our range hood! We've changed our big smeg canopy range to an undermount range and cupboards above. Completely streamlined. Yay!! - otherwise known as Kym - Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 42Apr 11, 2016 1:49 pm Is that the pullout out range hood Kym? Any pictures of it? Yay for looking at flooring! Make sure you update!! Shell, that sounds like an awesome saving! We paid $1400 Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 43Apr 11, 2016 10:00 pm No not even the pull out one!! Lol It is like this: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ It's set into the bottom of the overhead cupboard. Nothing visible unless you look under the overhead cupboards. Our back wall with the stove looks quite squishy coz we've put the 900 freestanding stove in so it will streamline and make it look neater which should make it feel bigger. - otherwise known as Kym - Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 44Apr 12, 2016 6:50 am I love that Kym! That's going to look so slick! Was that much to upgrade to? We have upgraded to the square range hood not the big bulky pyramid but I love the idea you have Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 45Apr 12, 2016 8:15 am To be honest I have no idea lol. We upgraded to the smeg freestanding 900 cooker and it was packaged with the smeg pyramid range. So they have to split that package and put in the undermount. I'm hoping it shouldn't be that much more expensive but it will be staying in any case lol The stove/range upgrade was 2500. The other reason I didn't want the range hood was because we would also then have to tile up behind the range hood to take the splash back right up. - otherwise known as Kym - Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 46Apr 12, 2016 10:50 am Yep you can do you're own convencying, I'm a bit of a cheap stake, if I can do it myself and save I will. I upgraded to that same range hood, great minds think alike. I have the price at home if you want me to update you later. You have to pay extra for the 900mm stand alone? It was standard inclusion for me or the 600mm bench stove with wall oven - our choice no extra costs. I thought all gj would have the same standards, guess not. ~Shellby~ GJ Bridgewater 203 11/3/2016 - Site Work Started 29/9/2016 - Handover 142 Work Days 6 Work Days Over https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80174 Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 47Apr 12, 2016 10:56 am I like this rangehood you both have! Do you know the cost of that Shell? I think I paid a fair bit for mine might change what you both have! Did you pick that at the kitchen apt Shell? I have the 900mm stand alone in my inclusions as well, (obiviously as we are building with the same GJ lol) strange that you don't Kym? Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 48Apr 12, 2016 1:26 pm Charlibear - yep we choose it on our colour selection day. The upgrade to a 900mm Smeg Pum90X under mount concealed - ducted to eave was $276.00 Do remember that was the price in September last year - things can change since then. I know they have changed the dishwasher and I get the old one and not the new one because of when I signed my contract. ~Shellby~ GJ Bridgewater 203 11/3/2016 - Site Work Started 29/9/2016 - Handover 142 Work Days 6 Work Days Over https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80174 Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 49Apr 12, 2016 1:30 pm Your right, I had a quick search on standards for GJ and every office can have a different standard inclusion list. One office had a 3 step upgrade tier, while others had 900mm as standard like Grafton and Orange. I didn't know that. ~Shellby~ GJ Bridgewater 203 11/3/2016 - Site Work Started 29/9/2016 - Handover 142 Work Days 6 Work Days Over https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80174 Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 50Apr 13, 2016 7:14 am Wow that range hood is a lot cheaper than what I've upgraded to, I don't exactly know the codes are because when we signed and accepted our quote the range hood we originally upgraded to had its code changed and the computer wasn't accepting it so Micah came down and we upgraded to a better one again the rectangle one which added on about $800 but they left the code on for the triangle one, I'm a bit concerned because I paid for this upgrade and don't want to receive the triangle range hood if that makes sense. From memory, all up I think our range hood could be around $1500, so might rethink that to what you both have... Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 51Apr 14, 2016 10:54 am Yep all gj offices provide different levels of inclusions. The standard under bench oven and cooktop is an omega brand. We also don't get a dishwasher. Only the provision for one so we have to buy it and install it ourselves. That price is pretty good shell! I'm hoping it comes in around that lol So I'm going to look at tiles and flooring this afternoon. Bit excited! It's finally starting to feel real! To think we will have a slab this year and the start of our brand new home is enough to give me butterflies. We have made a few selections already which I'll get together and post up!! - otherwise known as Kym - Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 52Apr 14, 2016 1:49 pm How exciting Kym, what kind of colour scheme are you aiming for? Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 53Apr 14, 2016 9:20 pm so i didn't get into town but i've gathered a few pics of things we've upgraded too. colours scare me Charli!! lol I can look at something and either love it or hate it but trying to imagine it all together is quite daunting. I was hoping for a modern coastal kind of palette given that we live walking distance to st georges basin . Relaxed but modern and contemporary. does that even mash together? AHHH - otherwise known as Kym - Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 55Apr 14, 2016 9:31 pm Hahaha you sound like me Kym! Haha relaxed but contemporary are the exact words I used with my husband, he was like whaaaat? Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 56Apr 15, 2016 3:56 pm Ok i went into the tile supplier today.... I'm disappointed with the tile selections in our price range.... SO we will be paying for nicer tiles, however, I'm stoked at the flooring in our allowance. Vinyl / Carpet choices i've made, my fav is the middle one, although i love the dark one i don't think our house will be big enough to carry them off. Some other selections we've locked in: Our front door: Our front door handle: Cavity sliders on the media room: - otherwise known as Kym - Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 57Apr 15, 2016 5:00 pm Oh really Kym? Do you get the $33sqm for flooring? Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 58Apr 15, 2016 5:10 pm our flooring says we are in category A Our tile allowance is $25/sqm which is basically a solid 450 x 450 tile and white subway tiles. I LOATHE subway tiles. they always remind me of public toilets so i won't be having that. ew in the right house they can look lovely, however it won't be my house. lol - otherwise known as Kym - Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 59Apr 15, 2016 5:15 pm NelopeJ88 Another GJ build! I can't wait to follow your progress Kym! thanks Nelope! Where about are you building? It's been a long process for us waiting for our land to register but we will get there! - otherwise known as Kym - Re: Our first build: "Bridgewater" by Gj's Shoalhaven 60Apr 15, 2016 5:25 pm I feel the same way about subway tiles! I would like a timber look tile as our splashback. Omg our choices are so similar, I adore that middle plank! hi guys. Please be nice. First time home builder in Qld.
