Construction supervisor finally got back to me but no actual update on the window. Feels like I'm back in admin phase with nothing but a slab and increased mortgage payments to show for having moved into construction. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78995 Build thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78995 Re: Metricon Glendale 37+ 262Sep 12, 2016 4:58 pm We have framers on site!!! I'm sure there was a few days between ground floor and first floor for us while they did floor joists so you've had great work in a day!!! I asked him if he had an update on the window and I got the very clear brush off of "you need to talk to HQ about that, I'm very busy with other jobs and it's not urgent to deal with" yeah but as it could take 3 weeks to order a new window, 30mins to deal with it now and order could save us weeks of time whilst we wait for it! Lesson of the day: choose your battles- I'd rather have sat back watching a site with no action if I could get that window sorted, feels like now I'm going to be told "no updates to plans" viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78995 Build thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78995 Re: Metricon Glendale 37+ 269Sep 15, 2016 2:05 pm Lesson for today: have faith, your SM is there to work with you and will do so, it's just that he also has way too many other people he's also working with! Ground floor, first floor and roof frame is all on! The window issue has been sorted. The ugly strip was just a transportation safety thing (and shouldn't have been in the plans either!) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Will post some more photos over the weekend (running late in the mornings this week and too dark at night!). Will also get out the drone for a flyby video - warning nothing as well edited as Orpheus (unless you'd like to head over to my place??) Had a cheeky walk through the place last night and have already mentally moved in, just a bit of plastering and floors to do now, how long can that really take...... Did seem smaller than I'd thought but putting that down to it being dark. Roll on the next 6 months. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78995 Build thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78995 Re: Metricon Glendale 37+ 270Sep 15, 2016 2:14 pm NRyde Glendale37+ Lesson for today: have faith, your SM is there to work with you and will do so, it's just that he also has way too many other people he's also working with! Having seen other issues with the kitchen splash back window and overhead cupboards I'm concerned about the overlap/over hang. Your current bulk head is shy about 50mm Edge39.my-letter-box.com Orph: That's not the look we going for I'm assuming we'd be able to see the other three sides of the window frame? I'd be happy with the front of the units overhanging by 15mm assuming that this is literally just the doors being 15mm longer than the wall units as this would be the "handle" to open the cupboards. SteveMc, Should I be measuring frame to frame or do I need to allow for gyprock to the underside of the bulkhead? viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78995 Build thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78995 Re: Metricon Glendale 37+ 279Sep 16, 2016 2:00 pm We asked our Sam to raise the overhead cupboards by 45mm so cupboards sit flush with the window frame (and not the glass).
