This means we will see all 4 sides of the window frame. @Orph Build thread: viewtopic.php?t=78328 Home Furniture: viewtopic.php?t=80551 Technology Hub: viewtopic.php?t=83663 Landscape Design: viewtopic.php?t=80645 viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78995 Now is the best time to change yr frames. So the cupboard carcass will line up with the bottom edge of the window reveal, and the 15mm will overhang due to the extended door fronts. Edge39.my-letter-box.com Metricon Glendale 37+ 285Sep 17, 2016 11:23 am Yeah, some of the window splash back in the display homes sit flush with the glass rather than the window frame. Depends on the look you want. Also there is a shadow line between the bulkhead and cabinetry. I wonder if you have handles, Whether the 15mm overhang on the cabinets still exist? This whole idea of "you're not allowed on site without supervision" is it a lip service/OH&S contract thing or will he really be annoyed I've been on site??? viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78995 Build thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78995 Re: Metricon Glendale 37+ 287Sep 19, 2016 6:55 pm I normally use the excuse "according to my plans".....blah blah blah. Yes Orpheus I'm basking in the joy of our cracking Bricks. Ok back to work and quality checks: they've only just started but hoping the totality of the one brickie (and his mixer) can power through.... But I fear they may not be the super A crew these bricks deserve. But one "silver" lining: SM hasn't fixed up two major structural issue that frame inspection called out that needed to be sorted before bricks started. Part of the frame hasn't been lined up properly on top of the slab. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Inspection report said: "The Timber bottom plate on the left side of the house on the ground floor and on the rear wall of the garage is overhanging the slab. This exceeds limits and either confirmation from the certifier that this frame overhang is acceptable or a fix will be required prior to brickwork commencing. Discussion and confirmation should be sought with site supervisor." Can't believer I may be asking SM to pull these down, fix the issues then restart! He's going to hate me. Build thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78995 Metricon Glendale 37+ 294Oct 06, 2016 4:16 pm We have some concerns about how clean the bricks are being layed and the thickness of the morta between them. Having hassled our SM about it, it does seem like they are doing a better job but am I just being too picky about the lovely bricks? Also seems the M gods have decided to give our SM a break from the most picky client and are getting us a new SM! Not sure if that's a good or bad thing but I do know current SM's work load was too much. Hoping new guy will be less stretched and able to kick our job on a bit faster. We're also going over seas for three weeks. Any advise on how to keep the SM honest and get updates whilst we're away. Build thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78995 Re: Metricon Glendale 37+ 297Oct 08, 2016 6:20 pm So our site visit was more of a just outside site visit as the house was being dressed in its scaffolding for next stage of bricks. New SM seems very nice, older guy with lots of experience but new to M. Hope he can get up to speed with M's process fast and kick on our job before he gets swapped with to many other jobs. We called out the brick laying again, the clean-ness has really improved but consistency of mortar is very average in places and some it's just going to have to be re-done. Old SM hasn't resolve the issues from our frame inspection so we're holding off frame payment. We have a few issues that need to be resolved too. Hang in there, hopefully it gets sorted for you via the new SM. Have they started bricking upstairs yet? Hi this is NR's wife. Thank you! Brickwork is now finally finished and SM has confirmed frame issues will be sorted but only after the scaffolding comes down. Here are some more photos kindly sent to us by our neighbour as we are still overseas.
