We have no idea when settlement will be. We've received the final invoice, but are waiting on further information from DFH. The gas line was connected on Thursday. Conduit is being installed this coming Wednesday whatever that is. SS said he'd notify us with 2 weeks notice for delivery of our appliances. It's all taking far too long. The house has been sitting finished for nearly two weeks! What's happening with your house RT? I dont know why they stall the builds. Hopefully settlement will be very soon Our bricking is close to being finished. They have almost fixed all the defects, just a couple of more things which should be done on monday. They are plastering on Wednesday so will get a better idea of space once that is done. My ss is still confident that we'll have settlement by end of march. He said he's giving us all the good tradies to speed it up lol Building with Dennis Family Homes Re: KDR Under the Flight Path - Dennis Family Homes (Hawkesd 230Feb 23, 2017 7:05 pm Final inspection & private inspector Thursday 3rd. Building with Dennis Family Homes Re: KDR Under the Flight Path - Dennis Family Homes (Hawkesd 236Mar 01, 2017 10:33 pm Sorry Rondy, jumped the gun a bit. Good luck tomorrow Building with Dennis Family Homes Re: KDR Under the Flight Path - Dennis Family Homes (Hawkesd 237Mar 02, 2017 8:46 am Thinking of you today Rondy! Fingers crossed it was well and truly worth the wait! =D rtforresters - how is it all going? Us - bad news. =( The council have rejected our building permit. They wont let us move forward, nor will they let us site the house slightly to the rear. The guy actually suggested we look at a wider house instead. Our block is big and as it is, the house will only sit on 48% of the site. It is a trapezoid shape. At its narrowest it is 16m across the front. The back boundary is 35m and the depth of the block is 30m. No easements on our side of the fence. And they said no. I am annoyed and disappointed because we had invested so much time into the process already. I knew the council had a 5m from back fence rule and I had brought it up with DFH earlier but we were told it should be ok because our alfresco/ living area was to the side where there is a tonne of space but no. I am trying to keep upbeat and am waiting for DF to come back with what next. =( =( =( Re: KDR Under the Flight Path - Dennis Family Homes (Hawkesd 238Mar 02, 2017 8:51 am I should add we are in an established court, huge double bowled one at that, All single storey houses. Ironically, if we had submitted a double storey build, we'd likely have been ok. Except, I don't want a double storey. We'd have seriously 'altered the street landscape' then as he says we would if we move our house forward 1 measly meter! We are the last house before the curve of bowl begins so our neighbors dont sit in line anyway!! Argh, so frustrating! We are a close knit community in the court and all the neighbors are aware of our build and all are happy with the plans we proposed. Just not the council. =( Re: KDR Under the Flight Path - Dennis Family Homes (Hawkesd 239Mar 02, 2017 9:34 am Lenz88 I should add we are in an established court, huge double bowled one at that, All single storey houses. I hope there's an easy resolution to the issue otherwise you might be looking at a different house Building with Dennis Family Homes Re: KDR Under the Flight Path - Dennis Family Homes (Hawkesd 240Mar 02, 2017 9:52 am It is so disappointing. All throughout the process, we were assured it wouldn't be an issue given the size of the block but yeah, it is what it is. It looks like we might have to start looking again. Which house are you guys building again? =D Hi, I am looking into doing a KDR in Melbourne and am contemplating using Kialla Homes. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 13449 Hello everyone, After some suggestions and ideas about how to put a concrete path around the drop edge beam area on our new build. We are required to have a concrete path… 0 12878 |
