Yes she is, just disappointed that we still have about 3 months to go. We didn't create this final design (an architect took my earlier drawings and shrunk / realigned the spaces to make it work). Gyprocked all the way to the glass and painted wall colour. There is a walnut handrail across the top of the lot (to match the doors). Using my LG-G4 to bring you this update. Re: Custom build in Adelaide. 229Apr 13, 2016 10:55 pm Spent some time 'researching' sofas. Why is it the really expensive stuff justs looks so nice.

Re: Custom build in Adelaide. 230Apr 13, 2016 11:06 pm Loving your house TD! Oh and you're preaching to the choir regarding the sofa argument! Everything I want is like $2500, and I refuse to spend that with 2 small boys! Lol Re: Custom build in Adelaide. 232Apr 13, 2016 11:26 pm Holy s*** man! Never in my wildest dreams would I be able to afford a $10500 lounge! Lol (I'm not sure I see the point of one either if I'm honest!). Custom build in Adelaide. 233Apr 13, 2016 11:58 pm Yay!!! It's fantastically wonderful to see all the good stuff come together. How good does it look! Why does it cost so much? Because with King they are appealing to your sense of image. They are nice but incredibly overpriced -- it's criminal. I almost bought the 'Jasper' thought it was great on sale. But Ask them where they are made and they stutter. Then mumble "China". Recompose themselves and confidently say "but in factories that we have selected for the best quality" blah blah. At least Jimmy Possum furniture (also mega exxy) is handcrafted here in Australia and you can choose your fabrics and be unique if you want. TD we have some good local craftsmen here that can make you a beautiful comfy unique lounge (gorgeous endless fabric choices) for less than half the cost of that overpriced Chinese rubbish. And your supporting our locals, not contributing to transport pollution or lining the pockets of snake oil salesmen Re: Custom build in Adelaide. 234Apr 14, 2016 6:54 am Amen to that. I'd much rather support local but in so many cases I've been burnt. There is one 'manufacturer' here who actually just assembles the pieces once they are shipped from China and can still claim made in Oz just because a few screws were put in here. I'll look into jimmy possum (and any other aust manufacturers you can think of). Using my LG-G4 to bring you this update. Re: Custom build in Adelaide. 235Apr 15, 2016 12:36 pm Good to see the house from another perspective. Looking great! That's crappy TD The way you can really tell is if they offer endless fabric choices. JP is MAD -- beautiful, exquisite. But they've gone now still inVic and eastern states but they've left Adelaide. Had a showroom on Anzac Hwy. Re: Custom build in Adelaide. 237Apr 16, 2016 8:16 pm TomCat OMD so embarrassed for my rant ... Some one knock me off my high horse please. TC get off the turps! Lol Re: Custom build in Adelaide. 238Apr 16, 2016 10:41 pm I have the leather Jasper from King. I've had it for about 18 months now and love it. I hear you re Australian manufacturing however perhaps that is something that we should be out sourcing because we just can't compete.....no answers here I'm afraid viewtopic.php?t=62083 Re: Custom build in Adelaide. 239Apr 19, 2016 6:12 pm I know I always seem to post photos form this direction but this is where the work has been done. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 34617 6 55852 So still no slab and apparently the concreter cancelled. Here come the delays... apparently things haven't recovered quite as much as I thought. I've been told maybe next… 8 31613 |
