Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building with Hudson Homes 281Jul 18, 2016 9:06 am They admitted fault but are just leaving it? Yeah that's what we found, Their trades are letting them down big time but can't blame the tradies, they are chasing the money too so they naturally go where the bigger dollars are! I doub't much will change in terms of pace, meeting Next Thursday on site so will be interesting to see what their plan is then. Re: Building with Hudson Homes 282Jul 18, 2016 8:19 pm Because it the form work bowed out it won't be a problem. The frame will still sit straight. If the cement sits in the wrong place and sticks out to far they will just trim it up Re: Building with Hudson Homes 288Jul 26, 2016 3:49 pm Oh wow love it!!! What brick colour is that it lookd very similar to the brick we have picked. Also love the garage doors. Were they in the standard range? Re: Building with Hudson Homes 289Jul 26, 2016 3:54 pm We love it too.. Our stone for the facade looks like it is probably delivered with the other tiles so cant wait to see that go up. The brick is called Blackbutt, only cost us $800 to upgrade to that brick for the whole house. The garage door was an upgrade, about $1100 i think (not 100% sure off the top of my mind). Small price to pay with the impact it has though. The front door will be stained the same colour and those currently pink slats above the front door you can see in the picture are meant to be the same stained timber, we think they have put the wrong stuff up there but will confirm Thursday when we have a walk through. Haven't been in it for so long so pretty keen to check it out! Re: Building with Hudson Homes 290Jul 26, 2016 4:39 pm Nice indeed!!! Our brick is different orpehus but looks very similar to yours our was a $1200 upgrade worth it though. Yes love the doors, we have the timber patons at the top too and timber stained door it all goes well together. We are undecided on the garage door at the ment. Very exciting! We are still at pre contract stage grrrr!!! Re: Building with Hudson Homes 291Jul 27, 2016 2:03 am We went by Sunday and had a look (from the outside of course ) and it's finally sinking in. We are in love with our layout. If we could go back we would have extended the kitchen slightly but with positioning I think it'll be easy enough for us to add onto it. Other than that were pretty happy how well the plan is on our block considering it's our first home and we will start a family there. We will have heaps of backyard left over too which is amazing on 500m2. Just wish our neighbours would start! I want to bump into them me meet them lol Exciting to hear our roofing has started! Going to drop by tomorrow night if I have time, if not Thursday morning. Hopefully we have bricks delivered soon. Feeling crazy nervous about the bricks - we went in originally going to pick Pailine which was a sandy cream and ended up choosing Orpheous which is dark grey because we *had* to have a sky black roof (according to my partner). We haven't seen it as anything more than one brick in the colour selections D: Jhiace your frontage looks amazing!!! Love the garage door soo much! Which facade did you pick again? Re: Building with Hudson Homes 292Jul 27, 2016 9:12 am Cherie, It will all come together nicely.. We are getting a new front door as the one supplied has frosted glass and we want clear. Lizard, What design did you go with and facade? Your bricks sound nice, and yes you roof is very black! ahahahha will look great once all done but. We have been lucky enough to meet most of our neighbours and will hopefully meet the only direct neighbours we haven't met yet this Saturday as they are coming down from Coffs harbour so will let us know when they are getting there. We found the same thing with our layout, people say once the slab goes down and frame goes up it feels small but ours felt huge, can't wait til tomorrow to see what it is like all gyprocked too! I think we are waiting on cabinetry now. Like you have had identified a few things we would have changed BUT we did make a lot of changes to get it to what it is. We have the elite facade, and the house is the Sienna 27 but it is not the Sienna 29.8 Hahahaha.. Will post a front on facade pic shortly. Re: Building with Hudson Homes 295Jul 28, 2016 1:05 pm Look great, so happy as its the same brick we have picked phew!!! Re: Building with Hudson Homes 296Jul 28, 2016 9:15 pm Looks great! Will go up so quickly. We had a walk through today, feels great inside, few minor things to be looked into. Kitchen was apparently meant to be delivered yesterday and installed today but that hasn't happened, hopefully next week now. Re: Building with Hudson Homes 297Jul 30, 2016 3:20 pm My fingers are crossed for you! Hopefully it doesn't slow down again Tile selections today. The standard range is really nice! We upgraded a few things, including the tiles to 600x600 (still ceramic standard range, just bigger). We were going to go 600 X 600 but the additional cost was huge as in the THOUSANDS$$$$$ because regardless of the type of tile is was classified as a porcelain when laid! How much did it cost you? Did you upgrade any tiles in bathrooms etc? We spent an additional $5700 on tiles! We were hoping to only spend $1k hahahaha... Our cabinetry was delivered Saturday evening, delivery driver though it be a good idea to reverse his truck into our back yard and of course it sunk on one side so the truck was bogged and on a hell of a lean! Hopefully he got his truck out! Re: Building with Hudson Homes 299Aug 02, 2016 2:53 pm We only upgraded the niche tiles in the bathrooms and the grout as we went with the charcoal tile. The 600x600 ceramic cost us about $3000, half was laying costs. To get rectified porcelain it would have been over the $10000 mark to upgrade. With those costs as well we only have a 20sqm house too Our customer rep has now changed Re: Building with Hudson Homes 300Aug 02, 2016 2:56 pm Yeah it is so expensive... We just settled for the 450 X 450... Who is your rep now? Looks like they might have started putting our cabinetry in, the back fence is a far way off the back of the house so can't really see the kitchen but things have moved about in there, here's hoping it is going well!!! Arranging a quote for drive way at the moment, Our other retaining wall and fence is going to start next weekend.. Ask for references and speak to them.
