Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 05, 2014 1:07 pm Hi,
We have just signed up to build the Lennox with Celebration homes. We will be building in the South West of WA. We have decided we wanted a change of lifestyle for our children and will be moving to a cute little country town a couple of hours south of Perth. We are soooo excited as we have been planning this build for a few months but have had heaps of trouble with the land and siteworks costs etc. Our pad was due to be laid late December but because of Christmas it will now be laid January. I will post our plans soon This is the original Lennox plan Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Building the Lennox with Celebration Homes in the South 2Dec 05, 2014 1:12 pm Here is our land!

Not sure when or if 'soon' means in years to come? Besides the pole, WE LOVE OUR LAND!!! How do you find your sink without a drainer? I do a lot of dishes and have a dishwasher and I think I might choose undermount but I'm worried about no dish drainer??? Aaahhhh, the things us mums have to think of??? Hope you're having a good weekend
Build thread : viewtopic.php?f=31&t=74793&hilit=Lennox Re: Building the Lennox with Celebration Homes in the South 6Dec 07, 2014 2:19 am Well after months of planning to build the Lennox we are almost finally there - our slab is due to be laid in January We have had settlement and finished Prestart. I am still undecided about what sink and kitchen tap to get but I will decide that this week and sign off and then I have finished ALL the paperwork for a while - yayyyyy Celebrations have been great so far and have helped us in anyway they could, I hope that continues throughout the build. Because we are building in the South West we were allowed 3 structural changes and we used all of them to increase the size of the kitchen and some of the rooms. We have decided to do a few things after handover and these are - Painting Down lights Add more power points Add more light switches Add overhead cupboards in both kitchen and laundry We changed quite a few items from the original plan and did things like added a long laundry bench instead of small one with an open cupboard, put a double sink and double shower in the ensuite, added a bench in the kitchen, changed the larders shelving around, made the WIR bigger, added an extra door to the back of the garage, widened the storage space in the garage etc We homeschool our children and need a LOT of storage. I am planning on using most of the linen closet as a teachers resource cupboard and the study as a mini library. We are planning on using the games room as our main homeschool room - it will look great when finished Re: Building the Lennox with Celebration Homes in the South 7Dec 07, 2014 9:39 am First of all home schooling wow . I love the look of my sink . And my sink came with a drain thing that you sit on top of sink . Do I use it no .lol . I use my didhwasher heaps more in this house . And because of no drainer I need to dry straight away lol. So my kitchen always looks tidy . Buy I have a bit of ocd about anyone but me washing dishes coz I dont wont anyone chipping my stone around sink . Apparently very easy to do if you knock it with a pot . I love how you changed your kitchen .is going to totally work . I love the tap . And I think it is a nice feature in the home . Just remember to put it to the side when washing dishes coz it can get knocked . I think because your sink is in the island I think it is great to have a big tap like that We made our bench hight to 1 m . All bench width are different . Sink side is 950 . Otherside 900 and stove side 600 . Dont forget to check depth of fridge recess .we forgot about depth but lucky our fridge was a good fit . I Re: Building the Lennox with Celebration Homes in the South 8Dec 12, 2014 1:13 pm Thanks Melsie! Every time I've gotten on here to reply, I've gotten distracted from children, eeerrrrrkkkk! I'm sure you know what I mean I've just gone for their basic tap but I might change it after handover with the large dorf veggie sprayer mixer? I'm about 2000kms north of Perth so I can't drive down to a reece store to look at one and decide :/ I'll post a photo of what I've chosen soon. I've gone with an undermount sink with no drainer because I love the look of them and I think I'll be like you and not let anyone do dishes for a while, lol! We had an undermount sink years ago and I loved it but we ate out a lot back then so that's why I was worried about having one now. I LOVE them though I thought your bench sink side was way bigger - mine is going to be 900 so not that much smaller than yours. Yippee, I can't wait for my new kitchen, our current kitchen is tiny with no bench space :/ I had already checked the fridge recess and it's huge! We have to buy a new one anyway. I loved your contrasting colours so I took inspiration from that and I've made my island a dark chocolate brown and the rest of the cupboards on the L shape white. I can't wait to see what it looks like Re: Building the Lennox with Celebration Homes in the South 9Dec 12, 2014 1:27 pm Here are some of our selections - The top white tile is the kitchen splash back. It's a cool hexagon shape The bottom is our floor tile but it's nowhere near that dark. It's quite a lot lighter actually. The white is the colour of the L shaped kitchen bench colours and the top is the larder benchtop. http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah296/JMCL1/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zps646deebe.jpg This is a close up of the kitchen splash back tile URL=http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/JMCL1/media/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zps63759cf5.jpg.html]http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah296/JMCL1/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zps63759cf5.jpg[/URL] Re: Building the Lennox with Celebration Homes in the South 10Dec 12, 2014 1:38 pm These are our bathroom tile selections - the bottom tile is the floor tile and we're having that in all wet areas including laundry. The feature tile will be in both the showers. The bathroom will have one row of it in the shower and the ensuite will have a double row of it in the middle. In the ensuite the darker shade will be touching in the middle and it will fade outwards to the other tiles which are white glossy tiles - I can't wait to see it!!! The cupboards are the chocolate brown colour and this is the cupboard colour of all the cabinets in the laundry, bathrooms and the kitchen island bench. The benchtop colour is snow fabrini and is in the laundry, bathrooms and larder. http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah296/JMCL1/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zps9d9f9f73.jpg This is a close of up of the cupboard and benchtop colours http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah296/JMCL1/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zps712ff3e0.jpg Re: Building the Lennox with Celebration Homes in the South 11Dec 12, 2014 1:42 pm We have chosen the storm cloud colour for our front pavers and driveway. One thing I have noticed is that Celebration homes is always widening their tile choices and their selection of upgrades. Our pre-start kept getting delayed and I'm kinda glad it did as the week we did our Prestart these paver choices were added to their standard range. Yay for us http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah296/JMCL1/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zps3ec8ea62.jpg Re: Building the Lennox with Celebration Homes in the South 12Dec 12, 2014 1:55 pm Love all your choices posting to follow I am in the south west as well (Bunbury). Re: Building the Lennox with Celebration Homes in the South 13Dec 12, 2014 2:21 pm This is a close of the colour we have chosen http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah296/JMCL1/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpse1c100cb.jpg And we have chosen the cappuccino for out the back. I wanted a smoother paver so the kids can ride their bikes and it's a bit gentler on them for when they are playing outside etc http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah296/JMCL1/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpsfde294f7.jpg Re: Building the Lennox with Celebration Homes in the South 14Dec 12, 2014 2:25 pm This is a display of our feature tile for our showers at the tile shop Trimview ceramics in Bunbury. We have chosen the tan coloured version of this. This is how we will display it in the bathroom but the ensuite is a double shower with double shower heads so we have planned to put this down the centre and double it but both the dark shades will be touching in the middle and then it will fade outwards to the white glossy tiles. We will have the dark chocolate colour in the middle for all the bedrooms and the study but our theatre room is a dark charcoal colour in this same range. http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah296/JMCL1/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpsc6a593d9.jpg Re: Building the Lennox with Celebration Homes in the South 16Dec 12, 2014 2:34 pm I'm soooooo beyond excited we will finally be moving into our own home, yippee! We have been living in work houses for the last 5 years so we haven't wanted to waste money on buying things for a home that wasn't ours. They've been nice homes but not our forever homes if you know what I mean? Anyway, I'm soooo excited because I have finally bought the beds for my little girls room that I've wanted for a while now. I'm aiming to style my girls room in peach, gold and white tones This is the bedheads I've just bought, I love them! http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah296/JMCL1/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zps7f99fbad.jpg Re: Building the Lennox with Celebration Homes in the South 17Dec 12, 2014 2:36 pm belzey Love all your choices posting to follow I am in the south west as well (Bunbury). Hi Belzey, I saw you post something about Bunbury last night on another thread and I thought I needed to check yours out as we're near to each other Looking forward to following your thread Re: Building the Lennox with Celebration Homes in the South 18Dec 12, 2014 8:46 pm Looks awesome! Love the double door pantry! And the bigger ensuite shower I am very jealous of. Didn't even think about it until after the slab went down and we saw (and stepped into) our tiny showers!!
