Great start with the steel beams. Frames can't be too far away TC. Looking forward to watching your Avalon take shape.

Also the garage and second floor steel beams. Re: Simonds Avalon Adelaide [Build thread] 84May 29, 2015 9:20 pm Ah, nothing like having some timber up to see it all taking shape. Hope you're checking on them to make sure they're doing it all right! Re: Simonds Avalon Adelaide [Build thread] 85May 29, 2015 9:28 pm I have no idea what to look for ... just wave, smile and politely cheer from the kerb. Mr TC will be out there Sunday OJ and he's super fussy and hyper-observant. I hope he's going to be as pleased as me

It was so EXCITING to walk through today, yes FUN indeed nothing much has really happened since Friday lunchtime (of course!) but being able to walk through the bottom storey and see the yard space was fantastic. We noticed the chippies overlooked the external garage door Better to fix (cut out) now before brickies arrive. OMG I'm so excited about my lovely new house!!! Re: Simonds Avalon Adelaide [Build thread] 98May 31, 2015 10:18 pm Sounds like you had a really nice visit, how's your yard looking? Because you have gone up do you have to retain along your back boundary fence? Bugger about the garage door, our WIR window has been framed like a little prison window , I'll get on to that. Very excited to see what will happen at your place this week. Re: Simonds Avalon Adelaide [Build thread] 99Jun 01, 2015 12:49 am Yard's looking a little small compared to what we're used to Tribe. But we have a huge alfresco on the back and some nice space down the northern side of the block which is also the second frontage/corner, meaning we should catch some nice rays. We decided on two story because the block is almost half the size of what we have now, but we'll utilise the space better. We did our retaining two years ago when we added the fill to make our block level. The retaining was done on the boundary line and the fences have been bolted on top. Our block had a gentle slope from the middle towards the back corner of 1 metre. It now looks flat as you can see here in this pic I took just after framing material was delivered. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I took this pic today. It's similar to the ones I took Friday lunchtime but I could get close because there was no one there and I love the sky. The upper floor sheeting and remaining timber is sitting in pools of water and mud. Not much we can do about that unfortunately.
