I think you might be on to something Ilaeria, I think I remember reading someone forgot to add obscure glass to a bathroom in a single story??? Re: Metricon Rialto 36 Gold Coast - Framed 462Jun 01, 2015 1:41 pm Obscure glass in bathrooms is definitely not a requirement (because we had to pay to upgrade hours, haha). But with the obscure glass upstairs, I know down in the southern states they're required to not be looking in to their neighbour's properties so they have to have obscure glass upstairs even in bedrooms etc, if they are overlooking a neighbour, unless they get permission from the neighbour not to. But as far as I know, that's not a requirement here in QLD. I did find out all our windows are being delivered on the 9th hooray. Re: Metricon Rialto 36 Gold Coast - Framed 464Jun 01, 2015 1:53 pm Well that's good news at least, no dramas there! Oh could you imagine having obscure glass in bedrooms? No thank you Re: Metricon Rialto 36 Gold Coast - Framed 466Jun 01, 2015 1:57 pm Ilaeria Well that's good news at least, no dramas there! Sent from Tapatalk That's what I thought, I'm not sweating the small stuff it would turn me into a basket case. Our big awning window in our WIR has been framed up wrong and I'm not fussed when the window arrives they will see the difference. The window is 1.5m long by 600mm wide, the frame is 500mm long by 600mm wide hahahah my own personal jail window. Oh could you imagine having obscure glass in bedrooms? No thank you For me personally I would keep the obscure glass in the bathroom anyway, even though it has no one who can see through it up there, because I'm paranoid like that I used to have a friend who lived on a farm, they had no neighbours for miles, they had a corner shower in their bathroom that was all glass so they could look out over the farm while they showered. But I couldn't shower in it, I was so paranoid of people looking in even when there was no one to do so! I hadn't noticed that your windows weren't in yet. Do you know when they are due to be installed? Was that gutters and temporary down pipes in your last photo? I shall be following more closely now as we are at the same stage as you Hey lunar, I went off and stalked your blog, great floor plan love all the big bedrooms. Great colour to your laundry and main bathrooms cabinets (we have chalky teak too) Our frames where completed on Friday 29th May, we are getting gutters and temp pipes this week, I think the scaffolding starts tomorrow. Our windows are being delivered on Tuesday the 9th so I'm guessing the roof tiling will be completed by then. It will be great to follow along with your build too, what kind of a build time have wisdom given you? I followed Matt1's wisdom build in Kellyville and he got a beautiful home for his family. I'm pretty sure you have been lodged to council now, how's that going? Hi Tribe, waiting for engineer to fix up the plans so I can re- submit to council with the changes. Everything is dependent on everything else, my builder is itching to go but we don't have approval yet! Thanks Tribe, My SS has been a bit reluctant to be drawn on a date but said 24-26 weeks. The bricks were delivered today and brickies are due to start tomorrow which is fantastic as one of our neighbours waited six weeks for brickies. No date for the roof yet but I hope its not too far away, at least before the weather turns hopefully. Then they can all be busy inside without it affecting them. Hubby is an optimist and hopes to be in for October and I think November but as long as it is before Christmas I will be happy. All our bathroom windows are clear and they overlook the neighbours. I don't know how we managed to get that approved by council. I will be leaving the downstairs powder room windows obscure, I don't even want to think about plain glass and kids on the outside gawking in Re: Metricon Rialto 36 Gold Coast - Framed 476Jun 01, 2015 9:42 pm Hi Tribe, waiting for engineer to fix up the plans so I can re- submit to council with the changes. Keep us posted on your progress, hope you get some good news and can lodge back to council quickly. I have a question?? Our ensuite is open with no doors so I need to put something to the window or our room will be flooded with light in the mornings, if I put a plantation shutter there is it going to be a kill joy? Good god 6 weeks for brickies is nuts, glad you have yours scheduled and the weather is good, make hay while the sun is shining 24-26 weeks is very good for a home of your size, fingers crossed everything rolls on smoothly, our build time is till the 30th September it will be interesting to see how that goes.
