Ill be going to investigate after work! Re: Redink Midwest First Time Builders 111Sep 05, 2015 6:28 pm So just wondering if anyone else did the "gold coin in the slab" superstition? Re: Redink Midwest First Time Builders 112Sep 05, 2015 6:37 pm Ooh not heard of that one (but I am a Pom) To be honest getting timing right for the concrete pouring can be a challenge. They tend to rock up and just get on with it so unless you happen to be there you may miss it. It hardens off pretty quickly too. I only heard about a few years ago, there is a 20c piece stuck in the concrete slab at work so i googled the meaning haha. The timing thing is what i was worried about which is why I'm hoping they do all the prep for slab and then do the pour the following day which will give me time to chuck it in without getting in the way but then I'm concerned the concreter's will pinch it. Will just have to wait and see. Re: Redink Midwest First Time Builders 114Sep 05, 2015 9:21 pm I think i first read about it on here. We are 4 hrs from our block so I don't think I'll be able to do it.. hope you get the timing right Re: Redink Midwest First Time Builders 115Sep 05, 2015 9:55 pm ColleyCrew I'm concerned the concreter's will pinch it. Will just have to wait and see. Haha yes - or they'll remove it as debris because "it doesn't meet code"!! Re: Redink Midwest First Time Builders 116Sep 05, 2015 11:08 pm Congrats ColleyCrew - yay to the sign!!! And earthworks starting next week - you'll have a slab before you know it .... never heard of the coin thing before either haha Re: Redink Midwest First Time Builders 117Sep 09, 2015 1:14 pm Congrats on everything starting! You must be so pleased, looking forward to seeing that slab! Re: Redink Midwest First Time Builders 118Sep 09, 2015 6:19 pm So much excitement!!!
