Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building through Home Group WA 83Apr 30, 2015 9:46 pm Oh Melsie you are seriously going to hit me over the head soon! Pre start is tomorrow morning and I've just been to bunnings and spotlight to buy more paint samples and canvas! I took the ones I had chose out with me today to see in different light they was way to different one throwing pinks and purples and one too green! I have now got 4 more colours which I just painted up and they look amazing I have finally stopped looking! (Lucky cause pre start is in the morning) haha will take photos when dry! The lady was great she did the lightest up for me and then 2 shades up and gave me the names of the colours inbetween so if I find one to light or one too dark I can change and know the colour name! So much more relieved now! New there was a reason other then my OCD that I could not get my mind set! Re: Building through Home Group WA 84Apr 30, 2015 10:28 pm Hahaha Natalie I've just started the dreaded task of choosing render colours.....HG rang me yesterday to book in my prestart for next week! I nearly fell over!! Booked it for the 5th of June cos I'm so not ready lol Re: Building through Home Group WA 85Apr 30, 2015 11:00 pm Natalie . Ill throw you a punch lol . Re: Building through Home Group WA 88Apr 30, 2015 11:19 pm Good luck for tomorrow. Prestart is always my fav bit - except it always proves to be more expensive than I would like. Building through Home Group WA - Bricklayer on site 90May 01, 2015 4:25 pm Thanks Kellie my head hurts already it's 2pm and just gone to lunch and haven't even got close to finishing! I had a list! Haha will post tonight what we have done
So far main render will be vitesse Feature render to be Lundy grey Surfmist roof and gutters Gully facsia Surfmist front door Surfmist garage door I am not impressed that I have got here and they have just told me they aren't using colour bond now and it will now be Unicote! Also that they have having problems with the diamond black gloss bench and of we choose will be at our own risk, also when we redesigned our kitchen we made sure they would be able to complete the bench with no join, now I'm getting told I may have a join but they can't tell me yes or no! Re: Building through Home Group WA 91May 03, 2015 12:06 am It's really stressful . I don't know why they can't just do junction boxes . Wouldn't be less work for them . I think you should try and get the colour bond because that's what was written when you signed up .you got nothing to loss . Render colour looks great . I think you couldn't go wrong with any of those colours . Wasn't that your first choice . What's the problem with there diamond gloss I hope your not feeling to stressed . Ask as many questions on here before you sign up . I which I came on here before I signed up . But I was lucky that I never was charged a variation fee on my 100 changes lol Re: Building through Home Group WA 92May 03, 2015 12:10 am We have been signed up with home group for over 12 months now! Emailed my sales rep in regards to colorbond he said he will follow up on Monday for me She said they can do the no join in the bench so I won on that in the end after being told already I could have no join The problem they are having is with the stone holding water marks and staining, I have still chosen it and will see how it looks when we get it, worst case before we move in I'll get one of the stone guys to come and reseal the bench and polish and that should keep it good and protect even more. Re: Building through Home Group WA 94May 03, 2015 12:21 am I didn't even think about joins . Because mine is a u shape . I have one where it goes around one near my appliance cupboard and one near stove . Because I have a light bench with not a lot going on it is noticeable and it's getting darker . But I guess I can get it refilled at some point . But really I don't really look at it . I thought having a black bench it wouldn't be noticeable . I had a few ring marks on mine and when they were here they just wiped some stuff on and they were gone . You might be lucky and have no problem . If you go on the kitchen section on here and ask the guest ion about the bench normally a stone person will answer your question . I was lucky to get no join as the biggest slab size is 3mx1.2m and our bench is 2.6mx1.1m if I had to have a join I said I would redesign kitchen, I am majorly OCD so I wouldn't be able to stand it I had them change a door to centre it more yesterday too as I wouldn't be able to stand that either haha was lucky as they need to change brickwork thought they would charge me a variation but they didn't! Love your external colour selections (we are going with same render colour and roof colour. Our rendered fence getting done after handover will be lundy grey too!)
