The first thing that we had to consider was where to buy land - somewhere not too far from the kids' school since they did not want to move anymore and start again. We found a plot here in the western suburbs in a good location where the distance from the school is just the same as our existing rental. It is one of the last blocks of the last stage of this estate. It has a Coles around the corner and no houses in front of it. What is across us are sports grounds. The draw down though is that it is on a main road not that busy though. So we just plan to put a low brick fence in front of the house after move in. My only worry about main roads are accidents. I have these imaginations where a car might crash into the property so a good solid brick fence should avoid that God forbid that it will ever happen. After reserving the plot for $1000 we then looked at Henley. We have been looking at display homes for the last year and decided to go with Henley. We have a few friends who built with them and were just happy with the inclusions. Moreover they have the price crash promotion so with the Sahara Q3 that is $32k in savings. They also have the option of a colorbond roof for free so another $4k in savings. After getting the initial quote for the Sahara q3 in November 2014, we were booked for the color appointment on the 1st December at Cosham. Building the Sahara Q3 with Henley 2Feb 04, 2015 10:33 am These are some of our choices
Bricks - Austral truffle (cat 3) Mortar - rolled off white Roof/gutter/fascia - colorbond monument Garage door - colourgrain caoba Timber windows - rich chocolate Aluminum windows - Jasper Axon cladding - Grey pebble Front entry door - rich chocolate Kitchen colors Overhead cupboards - pumice Crystal gloss finish Island and rear bench Stone top - wild rice Oven tower, island and rear bench - stipple hemp Re: Building the Sahara Q3 with Henley 3Feb 04, 2015 10:37 am We chose the design option truffle to take advantage of the free brick upgrade. We also chose the rolled off white mortar to make it look cleaner. We did not upgrade the facade anymore. We also upgraded to a pivot door 1200x3240 size with mortice lock. This will be frosted for privacy and because of the size of the door it will have only one sidelight also frosted white. Re: Building the Sahara Q3 with Henley 4Feb 04, 2015 10:38 am Other upgrades are double bowl undermounted square sinks Re: Building the Sahara Q3 with Henley 5Feb 04, 2015 10:39 am Bosch Pyrolytic wall ovens in a wall tower Re: Building the Sahara Q3 with Henley 7Feb 04, 2015 10:45 am Cant wait to watch your build. How much was the square under mount sink? They only showed us one option that was in the showroom, its a double under mount too but not as square as the one in your pic and I prefer the square one.
