Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Mojo Homes 21May 07, 2015 9:35 pm Hi CharlieMojo, We are building the mambo, which is similar to the Bolero. What sort of changes did you make to the plan? And what upgrades did you go with at Colours? We haven't received our consolidated tender yet, but I want to make sure we haven't missed anything we want. We are also having a hard time trying to figure out what colour external render we want! We thought we might like a dark colour, but don't want to have to pay for 3 external coats. Great to hear things are progressing well for you! Re: Mojo Homes 22May 18, 2015 11:36 am Hi All I would just like to say that to date, I have had a great experience with Mojo Homes! It seems that many of the positive experiences are not conveyed online so thought I'd share my experience. I submitted a tender to build the 'Vibe' on a block of vacant land I recently purchased. I dealt with both Elle and Dennis who have been a great help in promptly answering all my questions and advising me on the feasibility of changes and alterations I suggested. Their assistance with this allowed me to quickly get my consolidated tender together and lock in the build of my new home! As this is my first home, I was not only drawn to Mojo Homes for their competitive pricing, but also the quality and range of inclusions they have in each of their homes! They make beautiful, quality homes with affordable pricing. I couldn't believe the number of options I had when choosing things such as colours, doors and door knobs ect. Looking at other builders, it seemed that they only offered the bare minimum and had limited options in this regard. Having also dealt with some of the other builders, Mojo Homes were the only ones to give me great customer service and attention to detail. They always got back to me very quickly and whenever I went it to see them, always greeted me with a smile on their face to put all my building worries at ease. As mentioned above, this was my first home so it was great for Elle and Dennis to take the time and walk me through the process from start to finish. I can't wait to see my finished build towards early next year once my land is registered! Thanks again to the Mojo team! Re: Mojo Homes 23May 19, 2015 5:30 pm Hi Robin21, That's great to here, and can't wait to see the progress on your build! Where are u building? I agree that Mojo inclusions and selections are very good. Their choice of stone bench top was quite extensive compared to some other builders we looked at for example. Have you had your final colour selection appointment yet? We are trying to get prepared for ours The person assigned to us for our colour appointment has been very helpful and quick to reply to any questions we have had. I haven't had a chance to check out their latest display home yet (Rumba) so I want to try and do that this week. Mojo display homes at kellyville are beautiful! Great to hear things are progressing well for you! Hi nkelly I hope that you have received the CT by now and things have progressed with you. We only made a few changes to the Bolero: - We got a larger front door (1200) and have then widened the hallway slightly by moving the garage and master bedroom out - Our bed 4 wall was against the alfresco so we have taken out the wall (and robe that was there) and put in a sliding door - Sliding doors in theatre - Sliding doors to ensuite and walk in robe - Sliding door to pantry We also didn't make that many upgrades (we found that we were happy with their range and didn't need to), but we did do the following: - Mojo me upgrade package was included in our house and land package already so we had the automatic upgrades from that - We also got a promotional Ilve appliance upgrade - We extended the glass splashback in kitchen to ceiling - The flue from the rangehood only goes into ceiling cavity so we had that extended to outside - Privacy locks on all bed doors - Upgraded flyscreens to stainless steel - Pull handles on theatre doors Are you having hebel for external? We opted for a white colour (with black for window framing) - our reasoning was since the house is small a darker colour might make it look smaller? Our intention was to make the door the feature and paint a different colour but we might do that later down the track. Where are you guys at right now (since I haven't been on for quite a while). Re: Mojo Homes 25May 24, 2015 12:09 am Hello all! Just joined. It has been 2 months now that I asked for an estimation from Mojo's Kellyville office and have not received anything as yet and not even any response. I have been chasing them up regularly with no success so far!!!! These guys are not serious, are they? Re: Mojo Homes 26May 28, 2015 8:40 pm Hi All Haven't been on in quite a while, but we've decided to build with Mojo - we're building the Melody 39. Feels like we've had slow progress but compared to the experience of some on this forum I think things have progressed reasonably quickly for us. We first looked at Mojo in early Feb and were provided with a preliminary estimate a couple of weeks later. We decided to proceed and paid our deposit, and about five weeks later the first tender arrived. We have since proceeded through second and third tenders as we modified the plans slightly (a couple of times), have had our first colours appointment, and were presented our Consolidated Tender a couple of weeks ago. The process has been reasonably smooth thus far, however at this stage the queries we have are no longer about the house itself, but are more related to getting it out of the ground (e.g plumbing and sewage issues that were only raised in the CT that "may" require additional works for which there are no provisions in the tender and no estimates for potential costs). Our Sales guy is very helpful, but has to take all questions on notice, correspond with head office and get back to us. We would really just like to talk to someone with some technical knowledge to give us an idea of what we may be in for. Anyway, we have agreed to proceed with certain provisos and are expecting to see plans in about four weeks (fingers crossed) We'll keep you all updated as we go along... By the way - has anyone actually started building yet? Re: Mojo Homes 27Jun 02, 2015 2:35 pm Hello Everyone We are in the beginnings of building a modified oracle, would like to speak to anyone who has built this home or are building one to get some ideas that we may have overlooked. Looking forward to hearing from you Re: Mojo Homes 28Jun 03, 2015 9:05 am We are building in Harrington Grove in Sydney sw. Our land doesn't get registerd about January/February 2016, so we have a bit of time to get everything done to our liking. We are just at the early stages of the process. We are looking at the Sheike Facade, 3 car garage and a few other additions. Anything I should especially mention or take note of, during the tendering process. Re: Mojo Homes 31Jun 03, 2015 10:19 am I would like to see how you put the fifth bedroom downstairs. we added a cabana room with a wir entering a toilet, by extending the alfresco area. Will use it as a games room/man cave extended entertaining area. we had to extend the front main lounge and bedroom 1 as well for Harrington Grove guidlines so made study bigger, also looking at puting a walk through robe behind the bed the main bedroom so increasing closest space. we are starting the tendering process from the estimates now, but will go through that with a fine tooth comb, then go through it again. yes we did get that 40mm stone kitchen promotion and kitchen upgrades. Re: Mojo Homes 32Jun 03, 2015 12:43 pm I really like the design changes you made. Might give mine another look, especially how you located the childerns retreat. How did you find the selection and pricing of electricals etc, at the mojo colour studio. we have not been as yet and we allocated funds for it, but I am a little worried we did not budget enough, or I will have to do most after handover. how did you decide on some changes based on no display home to look at that has been a bit of a worry for me. thank you for your replies. Re: Mojo Homes 33Jun 03, 2015 2:17 pm I agree with you any alterations will be done downstairs I can sort out the upstairs later. I worry more about structural items in the build the rest can be done later. Can you just pop up or did you need to make a booking. Isn't it leaving things late with pour in August and it is already June, how long did they give you for the build, the estimate time for completion they gave us from when land is registerd to move it I thought was optimistic. Reading what others have experienced. I worry more of the fact there was no display home the have a look at either. Reminds me I also liked your void area in the entrance. Re: Mojo Homes 34Jun 06, 2015 8:20 am Hi All Next appointment for us will be 1st July for approval of plans, then colour selections. We asked about a timeframe for the first time in our last meeting (we're not in a massive hurry as we are doing a knock-down rebuild), and were told we were now about three months from beginning construction, and about six months from completion. It will be interesting to see if the timeframe changes moving forward. Re: Mojo Homes 39Jun 23, 2015 6:52 pm That sounds amazing! Love your choices for your kitchen! With your bathroom tiles is there anywhere we can look at their range before our colour appointment? Which supplier do they use? That's one of my concerns at the moment, not being able to look at their tile choice properly before the actual appointment, since the colour walk through is so quick...
