Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our Acreage Custom Design Home with GJ Gardner 22Jan 08, 2015 12:22 pm sebeva Thank you guys. We love the classic look of our future house @Bonnie_p: yes, I saw that there are lot of details we both like them I also love horses! I hope I will have one or two one day <3 We have the space for it. @Treesachanger: I have to jump to your thread to follow as well No, we didn't have to pay extra for the woodgrain. Its the polytec sheen which is a glossy finish and I love it! I must say, after reading through this forum, that GJ Gardner gave us a lot of to choose from by the colour selection without upgrading/paying extra.. That's a big plus that you are happy with their range! (I have a strict budget to follow cos its an investment. Apologies for my thread in advance, lots of changes becos until I meet the tradies only then I find out exactly what I can or can't have. The process is completely different to a project builder.) Re: Our Acreage Custom Design Home with GJ Gardner 23Jan 08, 2015 2:46 pm I just checked out that colourtouch link, thanks for sharing! Great little website! Re: Our Acreage Home with GJ Gardner 25Jan 10, 2015 7:36 pm Love your choices. Look forward to seeing it all come together. Very clever, I like it! I would do the same but we are planning on shuffling our kitchen around in a year or two after its built. Lovely big cook top too, I haven't seen one like it before. Re: Our Acreage Home with GJ Gardner 30Jan 22, 2015 9:31 am Hi sebeva, thanks for checking out my thread I love your layout and colour selections - look forward to following your build! Re: Our Acreage Home with GJ Gardner 31Jan 22, 2015 11:51 am Hi sebeva, I think I followed your thread last time (probably because we are reasonably close to each other, and there aren't too many of us from this region on here!). I think we are very lucky around here with our builders. Some of the info I see on the forum about what is/isn't included amazes me - and also how inflexible some of those mass builders can be! Crazy! 1st build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=59376 *New*-2nd build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70324&p=1154282#p1154282 Re: Our Acreage Home with GJ Gardner 32Jan 22, 2015 8:01 pm @Bonnie_p: Island cook top is what we always wanted We both love to cook and like the idea about cooking and talking/socialize at the same time hahaha What part of Gold Coast are you building jk?? We used to live at the GC and still love to go there from time to time to enjoy the waves and visit our friends We used to live in Upper Coomera @stellabella: We did have some hold ups, didn't sell our house in Hervey Bay so rented it out and are going with plan B now Live Love Lough Building thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=74918 Building blog: http://uniquebyeva.com.au/ourhome/ Our food forest blog: http://www.foodforestcookery.com Re: Our Acreage Home with GJ Gardner 33Jan 27, 2015 7:01 pm We signed the contract and are finalizing the colour selection and variations tomorrow. Made the arrangements regarding our septic system and thats it for now. I hope the city council approval doesn't take to long.... Waiting time again... Do you come under FCRC? Think ours took about 5 weeks to come through Re: Our Acreage Home with GJ Gardner 35Jan 27, 2015 7:11 pm Yes daydream, Fraser Coast. Ok, it means then that nothing will happen in February. Lets hope we will see some progress at early March! The contract says that they start within 7 days after contract approval.... This is the theory Live Love Lough Building thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=74918 Building blog: http://uniquebyeva.com.au/ourhome/ Our food forest blog: http://www.foodforestcookery.com Re: Our Acreage Home with GJ Gardner 36Jan 27, 2015 7:30 pm Wow that's quick! Hope it comes back quickly for you Re: Our Acreage Home with GJ Gardner 37Jan 28, 2015 1:45 pm How did you go with your final colour selections and variations? We are up to our 11th variation after signing our final contract Re: Our Acreage Home with GJ Gardner 38Jan 28, 2015 6:03 pm We just came back from our 3rd colour selection and we did pretty well, heheh. It wasn't final dough as we still have to wait for one more pricing and that is pretty much it, I hope. We do have our last, final variation appointment to confirm everything and sign up on Tuesday. The signed contract and plans will go to the council on Monday. We had to organize the plans for our septic before they can lodge the plans as it goes all together in one go. Lets hope the council doesn't take too long. How are you going DoubleDutch?? I know from a previous job that a few applications submitted to FCRC took a while...they were treatment plant, not septic though, so maybe that will be faster. Like at least 30 days, some up to six weeks. Although some were out in a lot less than that....hopefully yours is one of the quick ones! 1st build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=59376 *New*-2nd build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70324&p=1154282#p1154282 Re: Our Acreage Home with GJ Gardner 40Jan 29, 2015 10:47 am Yes, they said it usually takes between 4-6 weeks. It looks like nothing will happen in February. Well, there is nothing we can do about it but wait..... Lets's hope we see some movement in March How about you stellabella?
