Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Coral Homes general build thread 8202Mar 27, 2017 3:30 pm Laughing hard at at of those Facebook comments. Maybe that's the trick- screenshot them and post them here. It really is pathetic on their part! Regarding the questions re lighting costs- we were told the strip lights coral supply aren't good quality (I believe they are from Beacon) and were told by the Clipsal consultant to buy our own. A $78 allowance was included in our Clipsal variation and we purchased the strip lights and diffuser casing ourselves. Wasn't cheap- about $30-40 per metre for the lights (got waterproof from memory). Because we had the electrician do a range of stuff for cash (final bill was never itemised) we will never know whether we were charged any extra. When I did my Clipsal apt I was told $78 for any owner supplied light, including a downlight, pendant or wall sconce. C U S T O M. C O R A L. I have to call and email to get a bloody update and still no news, still with the variation team and still apparently it's been escalated. Two weeks two damn weeks we have had these issues with communication only after we have chased them! A build date of 5 April isn't going to happen! God if we could get our 15k back in full we would go elsewhrrr but not GJ either Milestone coral homes modified stradebroke 32 Re: Coral Homes general build thread 8210Mar 27, 2017 6:14 pm marcoola Whitey22 Buy SAL strip lighting if you are going to owner supply. Coral Homes Marcoola 30 Mod viewtopic.php?t=85789 Just something to tell your SS- we had under bench lighting on our plans too and the stone mason didn't include the correct rebate under the stone. To get the wiring in the electrician was going to have to drill a hole in the face of the breakfast bar and sitting on the couch the ugly strip would have been visible. If you're having an edge more than 20mm might be okay. For some reason our entire 50mm bench is 50mm the entire way through- not just the edge. Think it's because our overhang was more than allowable by ceaserstone so they needed it for reinforcement. C U S T O M. C O R A L. Milestone coral homes modified stradebroke 32 Re: Coral Homes general build thread 8213Mar 28, 2017 11:07 am So, we are booked in to do our clipsal appointment on Friday. It has been booked in for a couple of weeks. We just had a good read of the confirmation email and have just noticed they have booked us into Marsden Park in Sydney and not Southbank Brisbane! They called hubby and discussed our appointment with him. We got an email confirming a remote appointment. Hubby emailed them and said it was wrong and they changed it to a face to face. We didn't notice at the time that it was in Sydney. I have taken the day off work for this and there is no way I can get any more time off in foreseeable future. Not happy! Hubby has sent an email and I have a feeling they won't be able to get us into Brisbane. We should have read the email properly at the beginning but we assumed they would get it right as it had been what was discussed only hours earlier. FFS is all I have We did ours remotely and it was quite easy, so thats an option if it doesnt work out. We are now doing it remotely. Initially they said there were no remote appointments for that day lol. Hubby asked if there were any face to face appointments and they tried to book him into Sydney again! Twice! OMG! (need to find a brick wall to bang my head against). She finally understood once he raised his voice and said "Queensland" slowly. Hubby pointed out that we are the customer and that they aren't looking very professional with all their stuff ups. It has thrown our whole day out though. There were a few things we were wanting to do in the city while we were there but we are now going camping afterward instead. Figured we need some R & R! We are going basic & will get more later but just wondering about the choices available tia You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14131 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13818 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish.
