Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 05, 2017 12:04 pm Hi guys, I am considering installing EzyJamb doors in my new townhouse. My builder mentioned it could be approx up to $800 to $1000 per door? as jamb is $300 each, installation $300 then special door another couple of hundred dollars. So I could be looking at $5k for the entire house. Any other way to achieve the same flush results? Any suggestions? Thanks Re: EzyJamb Doors 2Jan 05, 2017 1:34 pm Hi building Melbourne. I think you should get a new builder . The ezy jamb with standard hinge is about $120 per jamb. I think standard jambs are about 30-40. You use a standard hollow core door so no extra. They are easy to fit I think most Subbie carpenters charge about 90 a door to install them. You then also save on architrave. Ive used them many times and they cost no more than about $ 100-120 extra per door. Re: EzyJamb Doors 3Jan 05, 2017 6:07 pm s&cgia Hi building Melbourne. I think you should get a new builder . Our internal doors are all 2340mm x 820mm, will that be one of the reasons it is costing so much more? By any chance are you in Melbourne and know of any good carpenters to recommend? Thanks! Re: EzyJamb Doors 4Jan 05, 2017 7:11 pm Sorry in sydney:-) your builder should be able to do this. I did forget one cost which is actually setting over the jamb. I'm not exactly sure how much this costs as I've never had an itemised quote. Each Ezyjamb should take 2 guys 20 minutes a door to install roughly. Install instructions are on YouTube find a chippy and show them and they should be fine to do them. Maybe he misheard something from EzyJamb. Re: EzyJamb Doors 6Jan 06, 2017 8:27 am I looked at these as they are very neat. The thing I worried about is cracking of the set where it meets the plasterboard. As doors slam due to wind or anger 😉, I was thinking that cracking along the join would be inevitable over time... or am I wrong ? we have a standard size and often we have a lot of variety to choose 0 3600 We are looking for sliding doors which are 5 metres tall.
