The general colour scheme we are looking for are Greys, Woods and Whites... Hopefully give the home a light neutral feeling... We have had several issues where tiles have gone missing, splashbacks shrunk down and inclusions we paid to upgrade gone! What annoyed me the most is from one plan to another an entire wall of floor to ceiling of tiles went missing on our ensuite vanity... We did sign off on it because we didn't notice that it disappeared .. they had the nerve to say we signed off and can't be changed.. I was gonna pull the plug on them... Eventually after arguing my point they fixed the problem... Re: Kiara Q2 - Plantation Homes 4Nov 24, 2014 4:26 pm Re: Kiara Q2 - Plantation Homes 5Dec 05, 2014 10:06 pm We are curtain owners! Spot light is having a massive sale on their window furnishings... Our whole house came to around $1000! They also have standard roller black outs, white and timber venetians... Post Contract Variations 6Dec 27, 2014 3:19 am We have finally finalised our paper work! We have had 5 colour variations and 6 Post contract variations. Have to check and double check every detail! - upgraded to full Tassie oak stair case with black balusters for $3300 (we felt this was an important upgrade because it is a main feature as you walk into the house) there's nothing wrong with the durian stairs but these just come up nicer. - two square niches for powder room and main bathroom showers. ($800) - security screens mesh upgrades for upstairs instead of the diamond grills. To save money we skimped out of the bathroom windows. - security screen doors for our timber stackers. - We also paid to upgrade one of our Windows in the kitchen to full timber ($600) we wanted to do more but they cost quite a bit and maintaining them can be an issue if exposed to rain and weather. - We also ended up getting our laminate flooring through plantation - Trendtime 1 Blackbutt - Plush cavity door to ensuite ($400) we wanted more feature timber doors to our master but they cost $600 each. - Extended laundry bench and tiling to suit for $1100. This was surprisingly quite expensive but we need the extra bench space because our laundry is quite small. - Floor the ceiling tiling to the ensuite and floor to shower height tiling to main bathroom. - We also paid for the lago double under bench sink $800 and two double towel racks for $26 We decided to go for a whiter stone bench top in our kitchen - lunar white, changed our taps to the radii range, and our grout colour to misty grey instead of olive to give more contrast with our tiles. So soon we should have our final plans drawn up in early jan and hopefully start building late jan! hurrah! Final Drawings!!! 7Jan 13, 2015 11:33 pm Re: Kiara Q2 - Plantation Homes 9Jan 14, 2015 1:00 am Melsie68 Try and be smarter than them he he That isn't hard some times! Re: Kiara Q2 - Plantation Homes 11Jan 14, 2015 7:36 pm Oh I like your selections. Loving the timber with the colours too. We used the moondust bricks on our last house, they do come up nice. Why has your admin process with Plantation taken so long, did you have to wait for your land to register? Re: Kiara Q2 - Plantation Homes 12Jan 16, 2015 10:52 pm I had a hunch the other day to ask the builder for our engineered slab design and soil test documents.... I didn't realise they don't give these out... To my surprise they did the soil test on the wrong property and did a slab design based on that! We were about 3 weeks out from starting site works and I discover this! How incompetent! I was so mad! What a disaster it would have been to build a house based on the wrong information. Son quickly enough plantation covered their *** and put the blame on the subcontracted engineering company So hastily another soil testing, photography, survey and slab design was done... We needed additional large deper pierings costing 2-3k more... Which thankfully plantation have agreed to cover... At least now we have the proper foundation to build on... SITE CUT! 15Feb 05, 2015 9:52 pm Kiara Q2 - Plantation Homes 16Feb 05, 2015 10:40 pm Ooh lala, TG you are in mate. Many congrats on site cut. It's gonna be exciting and thrilling time from here. Can't wait to see your build progressing from here. Hang on, where are your water meter and tap? Re: Kiara Q2 - Plantation Homes 17Feb 05, 2015 10:57 pm Thanks mirz! I took this picture a bit too close up... But our water meter is unfortunately where our driveway will be... So to the right of the big tree... I'm trying to find a metal lid for it to make it more stable.. but don't know where to buy one! So hopefully slab and retaining walls are done next week... Frames up week after.... Re: Kiara Q2 - Plantation Homes 18Feb 05, 2015 11:05 pm No idea why water meter guys always pick worst spot to install You have nice block of land. It's all action from this point forward. Re: Kiara Q2 - Plantation Homes - Site Cut/Retaining Walls 19Feb 11, 2015 9:19 pm Retaining walls are up... they also marked out the slab.... my house looks alot small than I thought!! I hope its just cos I can percieve all the walls up etc! Even actual slab looks small, just wait till plastering. That's the time when you can feel real size of house. I’m curious about how you went with this. We are planning a KDRB and considering Plantation Homes as a builder. I’m aware that after the demolition another soil test… 1 6328 You can put a roller blind behind the shutters. It will be much less noticeable when not in use. 3 18058 Can you give advice on how to get missing certificates needed for a form 21? Our bank requires us to provide one but we are missing 4 building certificates from our first… 3 57169 |
