I read a forum topic about Simonds that they build a house in 2010. The Same things happened when they do the QA inspection. The owner was very unhappy...... Re: Our Simonds Harcrest in Melbourne 346Aug 11, 2015 10:29 pm harmelb Thanks dran... Simonds quoted us around 7.5k for ceramic tiles and now we could do it for 6k for porcelain outside... It definitely saved us a lot of money...Moreover, the Simonds tiler did a horrible job with our wet area tiling and had to redo it several times to get it perfect... So we are glad that we didn't do the ground floor tiling through Simonds.. oMG Simonds quoted mine 9k for ceramic and 12k for porcelain... You are very smart to find other company to fix tiles Re: Our Simonds Harcrest in Melbourne 347Aug 12, 2015 12:20 am Nice kitchen colours! Looks great dran, we are approaching lockup. I have requested Simonds not to install plaster or insulation until the house dries out. There is still 2cm of water on the floor Re: Our Simonds Harcrest in Melbourne 348Aug 14, 2015 5:03 am Smart move TomCat and I am so glad you are really ontop of it all because at the end of the day it is your house and you have spent huge amount on it to look prefect. We're building with Carlisle and Cat 1 porcelain tile came back at 7.5k. I was thinking of doing all the flooring post hand over (except wet area), but at a dilemma of how to get the gout line matching up with laundry. Since it isn't a high risk area, I was tempted to credit the laundry as well, and let Carlisle tile the ensuite, bathroom and the two powder room.
