We're in! :) 904Oct 13, 2015 12:21 am Congratulations and well done, your house is amazing. What fun times are to be had in that kitchen cooking up a storm I had a little giggle to myself at those plants called 'cousin it' never heard or seen them before lol. Re: Building with Visionone in Aveley - KEYS! We're in! :) 905Oct 13, 2015 12:32 am Hootie, I am so thrilled for you! Your journey had been great to watch! Can't wait to see all your personal touches now you are in! My topic thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76249&start=20#p1316378 Re: Building in Aveley - Post-handover ups and downs 906Oct 13, 2015 12:51 am Thanks guys, it's been an enjoyable journey and I can't believe that I'm actually typing this from our house which is now complete and handed over! Fingers crossed that the trades that we have arranged for will turn up as scheduled. We already had a promise that our fencing would be started this week but no sign of the fencing person today Oh well, there's always hope that he will turn up tomorrow. I feel kind of insecure staying overnight without the corner side fencing on my lot Iinet has also managed to stuff up our NBN installation date. When I called the first time, it was confirmed that installation would take place tomorrow, 13 Oct. A week later, I get a text msg asking me to call and confirm the installation date...we are like what...? So we called back and waited on the phone for about an hour before managing to speak to a human, who again confirmed the installation date as 13 Oct. Fast forward to 11 Oct, we get a text message telling us that installation date has been confirmed as 21 Oct!! That's a whole week later....wow...Mrs Hootie saw the smoke coming out of my ears and I saw smoke coming out of hers! Both of us had actually spoken to 2 separate Iinet support staff who confirmed the installation date as 13 Oct and now we receive another confirmation saying it is on a later date? Needless to say, I sent a very curt email to the support team and surprise surprise, can't get thru on the phone and no reply/acknowledgement of my email or follow up! That's how Iinet treats its loyal customers. We have been with Iinet for many years (at least 9) for our current property (ADSL subscription). Speaking of staying overnight, I'm glad that I did this on the first night after receiving keys and did not wait till until we "officially" move, which would be approximately 1 to 1.5 weeks time. The reason I'm saying this is because we've already started to notice several urgent issues which I will have to call to the attention of the asap tomorrow morning: Firstly the garage door has started to emit a loud cracking/snapping sound when opening and closing. Not sure if this is due to lack of lubricant, but it's made it to my list because even Mrs Hootie was concerned about the loud sound. Secondly, I went to have a bath and now the ensuite shower area is flooded. Water has not drained at all for the past half hour or so... Can't imagine why this could be so... But...not to let these dampen our spirits about getting the keys to our lovely house I say On the bright side, we met with the landscaper today on site. After a quick inspection, he had promised to let us know asap when they will book us in for the landscape works to begin. We are also looking forward to the wardrobes being installed tomorrow. Hopefully this will go well. Enough babble from me... I will keep everyone updated about the issues and also photos of the installed wardrobes when they are complete! You have an amazingly beautiful house and you have the keys - hooray! I'm so very very happy for you I hope you get the gremlins sorted soon - it must be so frustrating if you have so much to organise and things don't work out quite as planned. Looking forward to see the robes Re: Building in Aveley - Post-handover ups and downs 909Oct 13, 2015 11:12 am Hey Hootie! Tell Mrs Hootie I LOVE her kitchen! It is stunning! I have also been with iinet for a few years now and their service used to pretty good, but ever since they moved their call centre off shore, it has been terrible. Cant wait to see pics of your wardrobes, and I hope you get all the other issues sorted ASAP. Re: Building in Aveley - Post-handover ups and downs 910Oct 13, 2015 11:34 am Congratulations Hootie & family!! so pleased you are finally in. Mrs Hootie's kitchen is to die for. Hope you get the issues sorted out PDQ. The bath one sounds interesting! Re: Building in Aveley - Post-handover ups and downs 911Oct 13, 2015 12:18 pm Oh gosh, I missed it! CONGRATULATIONS Hootie! You have such a beautiful home now for you and your fam to enjoy. I've loved watched your progress from start to finish. Can't wait to see some final pics of it all furnished. Oh and what a STUNNING kitchen you guys have! Re: Building in Aveley - Post-handover - Wardrobes! 912Oct 13, 2015 4:37 pm Thanks all for the well-wishes...it was great spending the night at the new home, even if I was alone lol...the kids would have loved to join me, but they had school to worry about. Mrs Hootie is beaming from ear to ear when I told her all the nice comments about her kitchen...I think she may be cleaning it again lol.... Yes...gremlins! The SS was right on it after I reported the 2 problems. The clogged shower drain seems to have been solved. A plumber rocked up after being called on by the SS and attended to the issue. Apparently there was a lot of sand and some stones in the drainage pipe, that's why it took around 6 hours for the shower water to completely drain away.... The garage door people will be around tomorrow. All gremlins look to be solved On more positive note...Fencing has begun!! Also...wardrobes have been installed! As promised here are the pics: 1) Bed 3 and 4 (kids' rooms wardrobes - same configuration for each room). The installers were punctual and very neat....even vacummed the room after installation. They arrived at 7am and by 10am they were done. Poor guys' van got bogged in our soon to be firepit area though, but luckily the fencing guy came to the rescue with the winch from his 4WD Flooring is scheduled for tomorrow!!! Can't wait to have this major task completed then we can focus on moving!
