On another note open question to all participants of this thread. Henley offer the wooden look garage door as a standard option, where other builders would charge extra for this. Why did you go the wooden look garage? Or why didn't you? it is mainly for look, and it is maintenance free compare to actual wooden garage door. i remember PD was charging close to $2200 for this door in their lifestyle range house. I Think it all depends on your personal preferences. I like wooden look garage door as i think it blends more with the house looking more natural specially if you got Timber front windows. Also on that note henley gives wooden windows and stacker in family area as standard as well. Building Monaco Q2 with Henley in Wollert Re: Sahara Q1 - Final Count Down 2106Apr 24, 2015 11:37 am Hi mirz, congrats again to your house... looking good.... we had our colour appointment yesterday, we were really tired and exhausted after that. and when we got home, we changed our mind and personally i'm not happy with the colours that we have in our bathrooms... want to go back again to choose for different tiles in our bathrooms and ensuite... Just have a question here, does anyone have had an electrical appointment with Henley? coz we want to have an electrical appointment because we are not sure about this... base on the "new home manual" that Henley provided, we should have a clean plan for our electrical, so I asked our admin to make an appointment for us, but she said that we can have our electrical appointment 1 month after our tender, because they need the drawings. is that how it should really go? Re: Sahara Q1 - Final Count Down 2107Apr 24, 2015 4:56 pm Sorry, I have no idea as no one ever told us about electrical appointment with Henley. But based on my experience you must have electrical appointment before tender. Our tender presenter was surprised to find out that we didn't go for electrical appointment beforehand. Hi there, I had an electrical appointment with Henley, it was on the same day as contract appointment (after contracts were done). They need to have the contract plans to work from. My BC had accidentally scheduled an earlier electrical appointment not long after tender I think but they had no plans there so couldn't do anything as we had made a lot of structural changes. We had included for our tender and contract most of the extra electrical things we wanted like alarm system, intercom, and the second most expensive electrical pack (can't remember what it was called), external power points and extra data points and nbn so we had a rough idea of the cost. After contract when you do the electrical appointment all of your info is already loaded in the system and you go through and confirm everything and their locations and add in and remove things if needed room by room. At the end the changes and difference in costs is put through as a post contract variation. With the electrical packs you can't really take things out, only add to. Definitely worthwhile having an electrical appointment. My consultant was good helping with recommending number and locations of lights. One thing which I think is a good idea to do (which our electrician who does work for us said) is make sure you have separate circuits/switches for the lights in one room, for example if one room has 5 lights, make it so that the outer ones are on a separate switch to the middle one. That way, you can have differing levels of light in the one room. Or if you have two rows of downlights in the kitchen area, put each row on a separate switch. You end up with more buttons to push though . Handy to do especially if you are putting in batten lights initially with plans to change some of them over to downlights at a later date. sassid ...building the Emporio with MainVue/Henley BLOG: http://thewaldorfproject.blogspot.com.au/ HOMEONE THREAD : https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75753 Re: Sahara Q1 - Final Count Down 2111Apr 24, 2015 7:44 pm Yay I just figured out how to do the hands thing in tappatalk! sassid ...building the Emporio with MainVue/Henley BLOG: http://thewaldorfproject.blogspot.com.au/ HOMEONE THREAD : https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75753 Re: Sahara Q1 - Final Count Down 2114Apr 25, 2015 8:57 pm mee14 Mirz, we checked your house from the outside earlier when we went to see our land. Your house is looking good. And there were people busy working... congrats, you're nearly there. Oh thanks mee, I couldn't make it there today but so glad to know they were working on site today Thanks for letting me know Sahara Q1 - Final Count Down 2115Apr 26, 2015 10:03 am We will be replacing all switches with Clipsal Saturn (white backplate and blue LED).
There are three different options to choose from, what do you think would be the best? 1. Blue LED stays on all the time. more show off 2. Blue LED stays off unless you turn on that switch. Blue LED will be on only when light is on. will be helpful to find which switch is on or off. Wifey's choice. 3. Blue LED stays on unless you turn off that switch. Blue LED will be on when light will be off. will be helpful to find switch in dark. As this setting has to go around the whole house and we need to tell our sparky beforehand, it is bit crucial to decide Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ . Think it's safe to assume we'd b looking at prob $1k for a single story then if we went with those switches? Re: Sahara Q1 - Final Count Down 2120Apr 26, 2015 11:29 am I like your 2nd (wifey) and 3rd option. But I think logic says 3rd choice is best cos at night finding the light switch will be handy instead of feeling for it blindly! Does it cost much for LED to stay in all the time? Like $1/week?
