Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building with Summit Homes, Corimbia Estate Landsdale 61Feb 14, 2014 11:01 pm Well today they started earthworks but was halted one of our site supervisors (we have two, is this common?) informed us our block still had heaps of tree roots and that they wouldn't be able to proceed until cleared. Guess the person who did the soil report missed that! Hoping the developer can sort this out as this was supposed to be cleared already when we purchased the block! Was pretty excited to see it all start... BUILDER SUMMIT HOMES | DESIGN THE MONACO 248 » Our Build Thread Re: Building with Summit Homes, Corimbia Estate Landsdale 62Feb 15, 2014 7:20 am Bummer! Hopefully they'll sort it soon for you. Surely you won't have to foot the bill for it if it was supposed to be done by the developer? Re: Building with Summit Homes, Corimbia Estate Landsdale 65Feb 15, 2014 12:57 pm isn't the soil report supposed to have picked that up? Re: Building with Summit Homes, Corimbia Estate Landsdale 66Feb 15, 2014 6:04 pm Such a shame, I know you've been waiting a while to finally start... hope they clear it quickly for you My Build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64881 Re: Building with Summit Homes, Corimbia Estate Landsdale 67Feb 16, 2014 1:10 pm not fair! Way to ruin the excitement of the start of the build. Yes you'll have one supervisor that is just there for the slab, then once that is done and the bricks are delivered the other supervisor will take over. Hope they get the issues sorted ASAP! Re: Building with Summit Homes, Corimbia Estate Landsdale 68Feb 16, 2014 1:21 pm Cheers! Hopefully I can get an answer by tomorrow, and hopefully won't get lumped with an extra expense, I will pretty annoyed if it does come back on us. The soil report came back clear before so not sure what happened here. Haha Re: Building with Summit Homes, Corimbia Estate Landsdale 73Feb 22, 2014 12:52 pm *sigh! Quite frustrated now... More delays! Got a call from our SS wondering why our block wasn't cleared yet. Apparently the contractors assigned to clear our block by Friday never showed and now got rescheduled for next Thursday sending our earthworks back again to the following week... You guys are just a stone throw away from us Janice, it's a glimmer of hope knowing we got that red sign up at least BUILDER SUMMIT HOMES | DESIGN THE MONACO 248 » Our Build Thread Re: Building with Summit Homes, Corimbia Estate Landsdale 74Feb 22, 2014 1:36 pm sigh! The trades Stockland use are terrible aren't they? Our neighbour's supposed to have fence installed last Monday, of course they didn't show up. Our neighbour's supposed to have fence installed last Monday, of course they didn't show up. Maybe it's a blessing that we have to pay for our last fence ourselves. Our SS gave us permission to go ahead and put the fence up last week before PCI. We met someone out on site on Friday and it's booked in for next week... Lol well I guess I'd prefer not to pay for it but I can see the positive side Our block was a resale so we didn't get the fencing and landscaping included but we bought it for a good price so I can't complain..we already have two fences up so at least we only have to pay for one.. Oh well, its done at least so hopefully my SS can now arrange for earthworks and hopefully for this week. Indeed, these guys who were supposed to clear our block were a no show 2 times prior and never even informed anyone at Stockland of the delay/reschedule. Mary from Corimbia sales office was really good in keeping me in the loop with this, even driving up to our block to check if work had been done a couple of times.
