I would probably still tell the flooring company their patch up job is crap and that I'd be deducting the repair job from the final payment Re: Aveling build in Carramar - Walls being fixed 282Nov 16, 2013 12:06 am good news and floor looks lovely! Re: Aveling build in Carramar - Flooring pics 285Nov 18, 2013 10:11 am We have an Actron ESP, Australian company, they can recommend an installer in your area. We are very impressed, ultra quiet, fast in cooling things down and amazing in just cooling one room as required which is great for me as I work from home and don't want to spend a fortune in cooling. The outdoor unit is rather large and clunky looking but the good thing is this thing is built to withstand the Aussie sun and weather for a long time. Ps we have always had evap AC, but there is no returning to that type ever again Re: Aveling build in Carramar - Flooring pics 287Nov 21, 2013 12:41 am I installed a laminate floor in my own place, without damaging any walls.. i can't see any reason why they would damage any considering everything is cut with a big enough gap to allow for expansion. Re: Aveling build in Carramar - Flooring pics 288Nov 21, 2013 1:39 pm Hi all, Thanks for the aircon info serialbuild. I have heard good things about Actron Wildwood home, that is why it was so upsetting, there was no need to damage any walls, they were just being careless and disrespectful. Thanks Kyale, glad this thread provided some useful info My furniture was delivered Monday, they made long scratch on the wall, about 25cm shoulder height, I'm beginning to think these walls were never meant to stay nice. They are coming next week to fix this scratch, it wasnt their fault, the couch had a metal piece sticking out. They came and told me straight away and apologies, they were trying to be very careful. I do love my floors, they are very squishy to walk on in some parts but that's just from an uneven slab. My glass splashback was fixed, they had installed a piece that was not measured correctly, it looked terrible. They were meant to install the splashback behind the rangehood and the installer said they only had glass for underneath. They can not measure for the rangehood area until the rangehood is taken down. So frustrated with this, I just want it done so I can stop having tradies walking in my house, I cringe everything as they walk in with work boots and I don't want my floors scratched. I beginning to think that my cupboards are not gloss like they are supposed to be. They look really flat and they dont feel smooth like the gloss in my bathroom. I want to get a sample from the laminex store and compare, will be very annoyed if it's not gloss but also kinda happy because it doesn't have the look I was going for. Should have our first sleep over in the house either tomorrow or Saturday. So much unpacking to do, it's mostly junk, lots of clothes and toys to family and good Sammie's. Can't wait to have my first spa bath Re: Aveling build in Carramar - Flooring pics 289Nov 22, 2013 3:30 pm Hoping you have a great first spa and sleep over - your poor walls <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=62083">viewtopic.php?t=62083</a><!-- l --> Re: Aveling build in Carramar - Flooring pics 290Nov 28, 2013 3:38 pm Well we have been in since Saturday, I still haven't had a spa bath yet with the jets on but have jumped in the bath, it is so big, I love it. More damage to my poor walls the furniture delivery guys had a contractor come out and fix my wall, you can see sideways the spot but it's not too bad. After nearly a month of waiting for my fencing and gate the guy came put today and had the wrong quote. The company sent me two quotes, they share an inbox so more than one person looked at my emails and sent me two quotes, I ignored one quote and went with the first one which had a 3 meter gate that opened on the middle so we could have trailer access. Well the guy came to do the work but he was working off a quote that had a small gate in the middle of the opening and two panels to the side. Looks like another 2 week wait. My mum brought me my beautiful white leather couch that gets deliverd tomorrow, I brought a tv cabinet and a dining table setting. Nearly brought it for 1055 on Saturday with 6 chairs, came on special on Monday for 699. I got two extra chairs and it same to 840 win for me. Also got 4 bar stools. Unfortunately my table won't come til just after Christmas but at that price I can wait. Will take pics of before and after Re: Aveling build in Carramar - Flooring pics 291Nov 28, 2013 3:40 pm Your poor poor walls - Glad to hear things are looking up - can't wait for photos <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=62083">viewtopic.php?t=62083</a><!-- l --> Re: Aveling build in Carramar - Flooring pics 292Nov 28, 2013 3:43 pm Thanks akb Oh forgot to mention I'm still waiting for the rangehood to be taken down so the splash back can be done and I contacted Aveling about my non gloss cupboards, they asked for pics and said they will contact their cabinet makers Re: Aveling build in Carramar - Flooring pics 293Dec 07, 2013 12:54 am I noticed the table and chairs we both like at classique are on a slight sale for 2160..not much cheaper but you can get free delivery online at the moment if that's something that would save you $$$? I'm gonna keep an eye out just after Christmas Re: Aveling build in Carramar - Instantaneous hot water sys 294Dec 19, 2013 11:10 am Sorry I've been absent for a bit, no internet yet Quick question. Does anyone have the instant hot water system? I guess I should have researched first before upgrading. I only get hot water when I turn on the button I'm my bathroom. I thought it would be more of a booster on cold days. Bit annoying that every time I want to wash dished I have to turn it on. Not sure if I can leave it on or if that will cost money. Re: Aveling build in Carramar - Instantaneous hot water sys 295Dec 19, 2013 11:36 am Sucks when you find things after you move in. No idea about water but hoping your enjoying everything else Re: Aveling build in Carramar - Instantaneous hot water sys 296Dec 19, 2013 12:10 pm Thanks Leanne, I'm not posting pics until my house is a bit more complete, after seeing your beautiful photos my house looks terrible Still waiting for my rangehood to be removed so the glass can be measured and installed. Recovered a call yesterday saying that as it's their last week it won't be til next year. Just great as I'm having Christmas at the new house this year still have non gloss cupboards Re: Aveling build in Carramar - Instantaneous hot water sys 297Dec 19, 2013 12:15 pm Christmas causes delays in so much. We have to wait til MARCH for liquid limestone so my whole afreco is rubbish/dust/sand. Sucks for the kids, no where to ride their new scooters they getting for Christmas either. Hopefully its all systems go in the new year Re: Aveling build in Carramar - Instantaneous hot water sys 298Dec 19, 2013 12:30 pm Oh my gosh that is such a long wait. Building is defiantly an experience. Mine is only cosmetic where yours is functional, sorry you have to wait so long Re: Aveling build in Carramar - Instantaneous hot water sys 299Dec 19, 2013 12:36 pm My own fault sort of anyways as im being stubborn and only want to use this one company. Im sure I could get it sooner if I used someone else. But id rather get it right the first time! Re: Aveling build in Carramar - Instantaneous hot water sys 300Dec 19, 2013 12:43 pm That thing with your hot water doesn't sound right. Is that how it's definitely suppose to work? My build: viewtopic.php?t=62001 My Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=62001 thank you! do we need to get this or our builder before we commence new build on the block? 2 4419 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 8 2249 |
