Nel.B Building the Serenade with Allworth Homes Blog: http://allworthserenadeatchisholm.blogspot.com.au/ Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 1144Mar 21, 2015 5:29 pm Oh wow you seem much further along with your build and only a week In front with handover , we have been given 12th may Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 1145Mar 22, 2015 7:24 am mel+rob Hi Nel, from what I understand with retaining walls if you alter the land then you are liable to pay for the retaining wall. If they have cut the land & you haven't cut or filled near the boundary then you are not liable to pay for the retaining wall. If you both alter the land then your both liable to pay. I think this applies to our land too! Our neighbour on the right did the retaining wall before Coral touch their block, our builder just follow the contour of our land & use drop edge beams, our back neighbour just told us what they wanted to do( retain more than 1m they have to do a DA) but they only ask for fence share as we haven't alter the land. Retaining walls can be very costly, I hope our neighbour on the left wouldn't expect anything from us as they are about 700mm lower than us. On our previous build we just share 50/50 both sides but we use timber sleepers, it looks similar height as yours Nelb. 35c is not much! Maybe negotiate 50/50 as you are on the high side you are safe from water run off. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 1146Mar 25, 2015 6:09 am Tina I saw the photos on your blog, the brickwork looks great and must be almost finished now. I am a week behind you, the brickies started on Friday and have completed about the same as your photos which is pretty good as there is only one brickie and his labourer doing the work. We signed our client approvals last week. head office have advised that our plans might go through CDC. Earlier I was told it will be through council. Anyone knows how it is decided to apply through council or CDC? Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 1156Mar 31, 2015 12:03 pm Hi Gaggy, A CDC still goes through council but it is a much quicker process than the DA process. It will depend on your Council whether they can put it through as a CDC or not. Anyone knows how it is decided to apply through council or CDC? CDC includes construction certificate, if you go with council, once DA approved allworth private certifier would take 2-3 weeks for approve construction certificate. If your fill does not exceed 600mm usually go to CDC. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 1160Apr 01, 2015 10:52 am Cameron32 Gaggy Congrats Kelly and Tina. If your fill does not exceed 600mm usually go to CDC. Thanks Cameron. My fill is not over 600mm. We have a narrow lot and have 900mm on each sides which is as per council and developer requirements. So I dont see a problem, unless something else. I called head office today and they have confirmed that my application has gone through CDC and is with their private certifier. Unless they have any issues, it will go through CDC. Lets hope there are no dramas as my tender expires on 1 Aug. I am a bit worried if we will be able to sign contracts before that. Most of our selections are done and will do the electrical selections next week. A bit confused if I get security alarm, Few LED lights and video intercom or do it later. For now thinking to Get data ports, NBN setup, Theatre speaker and projector wires, TV and fan points from them. Adding from them will be added to the loan. I already have things to do later like driveway, floor or deck to alfresco, landscaping, fencing, blinds, media room setup... Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74821 I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
