Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 1064Feb 28, 2015 12:50 pm Sanne, mine went over by just over four months and I had to pay 3 price increases of $5,200. Paid my deposit in February and signed contracts on 5th December and this only happened after I sent an email to the General Manager saying that if it wasn't all sorted by the end of November I was going to lodge a formal complaint with the Department of Fair Trading. Even though the admin process was totally frustrating, since they started the build process on 20th January when they did the sewer encasement it has gone fairly quickly and their tradies are doing an excellent job. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 1065Feb 28, 2015 6:18 pm We had our colours appointment this week We are doing things a little out of order to try get things moving. We also got a letter from our solicitor saying they were notified we are almost ready for settlement which is usually about 2 weeks from registration. We are waiting patiently for client approvals to come through then it'll be a matter of getting plans through council! We are so keen to get moving. It's exciting to see everyone's progress pictures so thanks for sharing! Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 1066Feb 28, 2015 8:05 pm Is it better to let them do flooring or should we do it our self not sure what I should do opinion would be great we got them to quote it so on monday day we pick what fittings and colours and we can take it off then if we want what do use think Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 1067Feb 28, 2015 8:35 pm We are doing tiling after handover. We were told by ours sales rep it would be cheaper as they will add 20% builders margin. Another reason we did not get Allworth to quote us was they do not do 600 x 600 porcelain tiles. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 1068Feb 28, 2015 8:51 pm I am having timber flooring throughout the living area so I am getting that done after handover, and I did not like the carpet Allworth were providing so I am having that done after handover also. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 1069Mar 01, 2015 6:56 am My house came with carpet and tiles included. Im happy to have their not as nice carpet for now as i have to little kids, they will just destroy it. I plan to get nicer carpet when they are older and make less of a mess. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 1073Mar 03, 2015 4:06 pm Sanne What's peoples veiws on 600*600 tiles I love them, I think they make a space look bigger. We are going for a Lappato finish from Beaumont. I've been told to be careful of polished tiles (the super shiny look) as after a while they can suffer 'optical hazing' or something like that, which can make them look dull. Apparently glazed tiles are better, but I guess it's a matter of opinion. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 1075Mar 04, 2015 11:02 am Hi Guys, When you had your finals (or prelim plans) drawn up, for example your house on your block and all the structural elements of your house etc (internal and external) did Allworth homes send you a proper PDF of this? So one that you could actually search through instead of just a scanned copy into PDF? Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 1076Mar 04, 2015 11:31 am TRB Hi Guys, When you had your finals (or prelim plans) drawn up, for example your house on your block and all the structural elements of your house etc (internal and external) did Allworth homes send you a proper PDF of this? So one that you could actually search through instead of just a scanned copy into PDF? Usually they would print out and give it you two set of plans, prelim stage, lodgement stage, construction stages. Ask you CSO to get a electronic version (PDF files) to your email. We requested and got it on construction stage. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 1077Mar 04, 2015 11:53 am I have a PDF version already, but they have essentially scanned all the information and made it into a PDF. I wanted to search for specifics within the PDF, but cannot do so as it's just a scanned document. Very annoying when needing to search for specifics! So I assume Allworth are the same? Should hopefully have them the middle of next week. My roof was finished on Monday and the bricks were delivered today, I am hoping it is not too long before they start. I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending. All their existing trades and businesses don't work with… 14 109480 Hi there!
